Re: Mostly Centrals
You have trouble staying asleep where you wake often during the night for whatever reason. That's called sleep maintenance insomnia. Do you also have trouble falling asleep at the beginning of the night and going back to sleep when you wake up in the middle of the night? Any idea why the wake ups? ...

Re: Mostly Centrals
Hello, thank you for the info. Insomnia before? I don't think so, although I haven't slept for more than 2-3 hours at a time for a long time. It's gotten worse since the new machine. I've never had trouble getting back to sleep (that much) before the new machine. Since the new machine, I have a lot ...

Re: Mostly Centrals
Hello, The new ASV machine seems to have correct my centrals and all other apneas. However, I am only sleeping for about an hour, then awake for 1/2-1 hour, then sleep again for only about an hour, etc. I'm happy the apnea is corrected, but the lack of decent continuous sleep is killing me. Any sugg...

Re: Mostly Centrals
1. How long does it take to recover from sleep apnea after it has been corrected? For example, I feel better in the morning, but I still get very sleepy and tired late afternoon (I know my AHI has only been down 2 days...). Also, I was much clearer in thought and speed before apnea. Does that tend ...

Re: Mostly Centrals
Ok, thank you. Last night was ahi of .11, but it appears to be when I first put on the mask, so I think I was awake. I was able to sleep in one session for longer. Thank you again for your help. You won't have zeros every night, so don't worry about that :) Let's see how it is after a few days, and...

Re: Mostly Centrals
Hello Palerider: Sadly, my dr doesn't know much about asv, etc. My AHI dropped down to 0, do you think the settings are ok? My asv settings are: auto aircurve asv min epap 6 max epap 9 ps min 2 ps max 15 You recommended: MinEPAP 8, MaxIPAP 25, MinPS 4 MaxPS 17 Shall I leave them the same? Or are th...

Re: Mostly Centrals
Here is an interesting article on asv effectiveness. Looks like the older machines do not correct the problem well (the s7?). the new ones, (ex the resmed aircurve 10 asv) appear help fix the problem. Looks like the tech is very complicated... I'm going to continue because my centrals are so bad... ...

Re: Mostly Centrals
Well, it's only the first night with my new ASV, and I still only sleep for 1-2 hours, then awake 1/2 hour or so, then sleep 1-2 hours again... But my AHI is down to 0 !!!! Wild swings in pressure... Conclusions? Attached sleephead... All those wild swings are the machine preventing centrals. Thank...

Re: Mostly Centrals
Thank you very much for all of your help. I've been having a hard time with this for years. Hopefully an asv will solve it. Just so I understand a little more. When I changed the ps to 0, was it then technically no longer a bipap, but only an auto machine between pressure ranges, the same for inhale...

Re: Mostly Centrals
Could you give an example of a prescription for the resmed aircurve 10 asv auto (that's the one you recommended). My dr kept getting it wrong on the 1st one. I know it will only be an example, I will talk to the dr. Here's my prescription for the current one: auto bipap setup min eppap = 8 max ipap ...

Re: Mostly Centrals
Ok, any recomendations of machines?
Maybe a dumb question: Is my apnea worse with this machine or better with nothing until I get a new one? Thank you.
