I paid more attention last night and the noise is on the inhale. It's not coming from the mask as far as I can tell. It appears to be coming from the machine but I am not sure where. When I put my fingers in my ears I can still hear it.

You know, Pugsy, I am not sure whether it is inhale or exhale. I will try putting my fingers in my ears tonight and see if I notice a difference.

It took me quite a while to get used to masking up. I didn't feel so much resentful as sorry for myself as I would lay in bed, wide awake, with this STRUCTURE on my face. I tend to be a little irritated by mask materials and found no matter what mask I am using I am more comfortable with a liner. Pad-a-cheek makes a liner for the Amara View which I've been able to use successfully (no leaks) - maybe it would help with your issue.
