Re: Humidifier seals

Thanks, AVI, those are quite some noises! What I'm hearing is much lower level than anything I found on your link. It doesn't cost much to replace the seals so I think I'll just do it and see what happens. I keep thinking it's coming from the area where the elbow seal is in your picture, but it is s...

Re: Humidifier seals

Well, thanks for your thoughts, Pugsy, sometimes the noise just drives me bats! I didn't think it was conductive noise because when the hose hits the pillow a certain way my breathing noise becomes much louder and seems to be in my head. This inhalation noise I can hear when I'm sitting on the side ...

Re: Humidifier seals

I paid more attention last night and the noise is on the inhale. It's not coming from the mask as far as I can tell. It appears to be coming from the machine but I am not sure where. When I put my fingers in my ears I can still hear it.

Re: Humidifier seals

You know, Pugsy, I am not sure whether it is inhale or exhale. I will try putting my fingers in my ears tonight and see if I notice a difference.

Re: Humidifier seals

Hmm, thanks LSAT and Pugsy! I was thinking any seals. I have been wondering why my machine seems so loud. I expect it's normal machine noise from my breathing since it has happened with every machine I've had, but it is so annoying. My thought was maybe it was the seals. My therapy is good. Just loo...

Humidifier seals

Do most of you replace your seals on your humidifier regularly? I just found out it is possible to do and I have been wondering if it would make the machine run more quietly. If you have replaced your seals has it made any difference as far as noise is concerned? Thanks for any info you can give me!...

Re: Newbie - Need to get from Resentful to Hopeful

It took me quite a while to get used to masking up. I didn't feel so much resentful as sorry for myself as I would lay in bed, wide awake, with this STRUCTURE on my face. But I never took the mask off because I felt so bad pre-diagnosis and I knew eventually it would get better and I'd feel better. ...

Re: F&P Flexifit 431 or 432?

Thanks for your response, SirN! I know what you mean about getting used to it. I am used to it but I would love to be just a little more comfortable. Don't really know if that's possible but I keep trying different masks with great hope.

Re: F&P Flexifit 431 or 432?

Thanks for your comments, Okie and Krelvin! It sounds as if you both have graduated out of needing a chin support. Lucky you! I think if I take the plunge I might try the 431. I like the Amara view but my AHI is higher with it than with the F10 and some nights I have to futz with it too much. Madalo...

Re: F&P Flexifit 431 or 432?

Hmm...thanks Madalot and SirN! It's not that I'm not getting good therapy because I am. It's more that I want to be more comfortable. I have tried the the Ruby chinstrap off and on for a couple of years but it makes my jaw ache. I like that the F10 is nice and light but I'm trying to figure out how ...

Yes, I checked last night to see if she had one for the 431 and she did. Thank goodness!

F&P Flexifit 431 or 432?

I have been thinking of switching to an under the chin FF mask - the F&P Flexifit 431 or the 432. Recently, I have been using the F10 and Amara View - mostly the F10. I have terrible chin drop so I also use a chinstrap otherwise I get chipmunk cheeks and a superdry mouth (no matter what the humidity...

Re: Please help out a new member!!

I sleep on my stomach, both sides and my back. If you answer the questions the other forum members have posted I am sure they can help you figure out how to get more compliant. When I first started C-pap I was so uncomfortable I stayed awake for much of the night - the pressure of having the mask on...

Re: Pressure too high for mask?

I use the Amara View and the F10. My pressure is pretty high, too, and in order to avoid the chipmunk cheeks I have continued to use a chin strap. When my cheeks blow up like that it wakes me up. Recently, though, I have eliminated the chinstraps and substituted with foam toe seperators (which I als...

Re: Amara View Nose Issues

I tend to be a little irritated by mask materials and found no matter what mask I am using I am more comfortable with a liner. Pad-a-cheek makes a liner for the Amara View which I've been able to use successfully (no leaks) - maybe it would help with your issue.
