Re: Could overbite make apnea worse?
I've just interviewed my third dentist for an Alf appliance, which "molds" the jaws forward and laterally. I'm also going to use it in conjunction with The Crane, which is an alternative to reverse pull headgear, to advance the maxilla. Then I'm going to get Damon braces to open up the bicuspid ext...

Re: Could overbite make apnea worse?
I was wondering about this...I have an overbite and was wondering if it is contributing to my sleep apnea? I bet it is, actually, because when I push forward my bottom jaw so that it lines up with my top teeth I can feel the airway opening up more. Has anyone else dealt with this? Can orthodontics ...

Re: Approaches to TMJ ?
So weird that you posted this. I have an appointment in 2 weeks to see an ortho for an ALF appliance. I didn't know what this was until I googled it last night. I found the thread below and found it informative and am definitely leaning toward this appliance now. Also, he quoted me a ballpark of bet...

Re: Any Reviews of New ResMed AirFit F10
With the Airfit P10 nasal pillow mask, I find that I wake up through the night starving for air. The vent is so subtle and slight, I wonder if I am rebreathing the same air. Has anyone else had the same experience? I had to stop using it for the exact same reason. ResMed REALLY needs to make a vers...

Re: UARS, low numbers bad sleep, MMA, now on CPAP
Also, this concept is probably doable at a much cheaper price point like you say. All you would need is a boil and bite mouth guard with a tail in the back that can be adjusted up/down and front/back. The tail part would be tricky, but not impossible. Exactly. I'm kicking myself for not thinking th...

Re: UARS, low numbers bad sleep, MMA, now on CPAP
It's a mouthguard that looks like it might work to keep the tongue out of the way. Why can't we buy it online? Or do we have to pay thru the nose at the dentist to get one?! It has to be custom fitted by a dentist, can require multiple adjustments to the tail and costs anywhere from 2-5k depending ...

Re: UARS, low numbers bad sleep, MMA, now on CPAP
Anyway, it got so bad for me I had to find another solution for my RERAs which was the AveoTSD plus Breath Right strips and Afrin nightly. I'm getting my turbinates reduced soon to go off the Afrin. I know you have had MAD but if your tongue still keeps dropping back causing the RERAs did you ever ...

Re: Are We Enetring a new Era in OSA Therapy?
CPAP has continued to evolve and improve for decades. It would be a big mistake for anyone to assume that this new technology, still in its infancy, will not do the same... evolve and improve. Everything in our society “piggybacks” on the stuff that is already in place. That’s why when you need to ...

Re: Leak issues with the Airfit P10
IMO, you don't have to do a complicated hairdo to get the airfit straps to purchase at a specific place. I bought tiny hairclips at Sally's Beauty Supply, they are like the ones in the link, but they are only 3/4" long. So I clamp it on some hair in the back of my head and place the upper strap over...

Re: Fort Hood Shooter - Ambien and Sleep Disorder
In '96 my brother starting waking up in the middle of the night with his heart racing and as he put it, "the room was spinning." He was terrified of going to bed, as this would continually happen. This continued over the course of about 5 weeks, with him coming and going to doctors, psychologists, a...

Re: Reviews of new AirFit P10 Resmed nasal pillow mask thread
I don't know much about CPAP, but from a standpoint of not being able to tolerate a hair band? I'm not going to want this headgear to get any beefier. I like that it will regain it's original size with washing, too. So Resmed - just make different sized headgear, but please, please don't add anythi...
