Re: Noisy ResMed CPAP - driving my wife crazy - DME not helpful

I too use the SleepWeaver, and it is very quiet and comfortable for me, but my max pressure is only 12, but I understand it doesn't do well at high pressures. It also took care of my facial rashes from using other masks.

Re: Pressure sore.

Two or three options for you - 1. try the gel piece that goes over the bridge of your nose 2. they make pad (pad-a-cheek is one option) to cushion stuff 3. try a chin strap and a cloth mask (SleepWeaver)

Re: Doc got things wrong! Now have to start again!!! by Julie on Mon Feb 11, 2013 1:57 pm But I don't think they have FF masks... Julie - you are correct, no full face option at this point for Circadence, the manufacturer of the SleepWeaver and Elan cloth masks. I've talked to the rep and someone at...

Re: Quattro FX Headgear sizes

I don't have info on the sizing on the medium Quattro Fx headgear, but the measurements on the large headgear are: Left / Top Strap - 116.28mm Top of Head Strap - 211mm Right / Top Strap - 116.28 Left / Bottom Strap (to center back of head) - 330mm, same with Right / Bottom, so the total of the bott...

Re: Doc got things wrong! Now have to start again!!!

I understand the sore nose thing, have had two nasal infections in the last two months. The inside of my nose swelled up almost blocking that nasal passage. Thank goodness it was only one side at a time. Anyway, I've been working with xpaps for almost 20 years, and didn't have a good appreciation fo...

Re: Sleepweaver

I've used the SleepWeaver Advanced since I started, almost 2 months. I tend to bury my face in my pillow, and the cloth bends and doesn't push out of position when I'm sleeping, and my face is very sensitive as well. I LOVE my mask. Like the other post says, be sure to watch their videos on line or ...

Re: I'm embarrassed, not sure, got ???s HELP

What kind of mask (patient interface) did the sleep tech use on you during the 2nd half of your recent sleep study? Did you fall back asleep ? and if so, how well did you sleep? That's a place to start for a mask. Make a list of your concerns and issues, make and extra copy and take it with you to y...

Re: Newbie with choosing a machine question

I'm using the S9 Auto and loving it. I've set up pap's for patient's for over 15 years and so far, this is by far the most quiet machine I've set up. With the new EPR feature, that reduces pressure when you breathe out (makes it where you don't feel you are fighting the machine), it makes it easier ...

Re: Cleaning rubber mask

You could also try using the shampoo that you use on your hair. Shampoo's job is to remove body oils, plus it's a scent you are already use to. They also make specific "pap" cleaning products, but I don't think they are any or much better than stuff you probably already have at home.

The only big draw back to what you are doing is the amount you are spending will not apply toward the deductible, so you are still stuck with that.

Re: Not a fan of DME rants, but...

The Doctors are never limited to what they can prescribe, but the DME / HME companies are limited to what they can provide by finances, and soon to be even more limited with the newest round of Competitive Bidding, which is anything but... If your finanaces allow, find a DME that is "Non Partipating...

Re: Need replacement for Autoset S9 - Ideas?

Check to see if your insurance would cover a continuous oximetry unit, they do have parameters to set and an alarm if you go below a setting, or Apnea Monitors (even though they are usually used for sick infants). I've always set up PR machines until last year and switched to ResMed so all I've ever...
