Re: Do I need to turn off EPR and go CPAP?
Glad to help. Once you get over 16cm you're verging on bi-level territory... consider a bi-level titration, just had one, sleeping much better at 17-21 PS4. [/quote] Thank you for the suggestion. I feel my therapy is pretty well dialed in as is. My next big move will be transitioning from lift chai...

Re: Do I need to turn off EPR and go CPAP?
Best as I can tell, EPR is a matter of personal preference. I've been using CPAP since 1999. I find it very annoying, as if the machine was breathing for me. I know that's no literally happening, but is ure feels like it. I agree, definitely a personal preference. My DME suggested that I use EPR wh...

Re: Do I need to turn off EPR and go CPAP?
what you are saying here is the exact opposite of the spirit of this forum Gosh, that seemed harsh! I personally am still very much in the early experimental phase of dealing with my sleep apnea, and making good progress (at least in my understanding) thanks to folks on here and similar forums. Are...

Re: Do I need to turn off EPR and go CPAP?
At higher pressures EPR (or PS) is needed to blow off CO2... that's why bi-level was invented, that's why bi-level machines go higher. Those clusters of H's look suspicious... verging on CA's? When you turned off EPR and went straight CPAP at almost 17cm you effectively increased your iPap by 3cm. ...

Miss Emerita wrote Sorry infrequent poster. Had typed a reply but I don't see it. Weird. Retyping a shorter reply. Thank you for your informative reply! I had not completely understood the article... oops! Sorry about the links, corrected ones are shown below that should provide access: https://sle...

Re: Do I need to turn off EPR and go CPAP?
Hey Zonker! Always appreciate your wisdom! I seem to be trying to fix something that ain't broke! I haven't played with my settings for a very long time so fell for the temptation, newer approach has got to be better! As you well stated, not necessarily so, we are unique individuals! Best!

Do I need to turn off EPR and go CPAP?
Longtime user and feel like I have my therapy pretty much dialed in. AHI's are typically less than 1.0 and leak rates are very low. I read an article mentioned by Lanky Lefty which suggests that EPR is less beneficial for APAP machines (unless titrated with EPR turned on). The article can be read he...

Re: New ResMed full face mask....the F40
Pugsy, I'm a dairy guy, I work with and know cows! :D retired now Yeah, I know most/all will not follow Resmed guidelines. I received good long term information from other cpap users on how long I could go with mirage quattro mask and cushions. Being a retiree, I'm looking forward to reading practic...

Re: New ResMed full face mask....the F40
F40 looks interesting for those of us that are side sleepers and need a full face mask. But, yikes, the Resmed recommended replacement rate is every two weeks for the cushions ($54 each)! Major suppliers are suggesting replacement once per month. In contrast, I replace my Quattro cushions once every...

Re: Moving SD card from Airsense 10 to an S9
Thank you Pugsy, Vandownbytheriver, and Ozji for your assistance and guidance! Looking forward to getting some real data on the S9 with my present setup. I used it last night and had a green leak smiley while I have routinely had red leak smilies with the s10. Hard numbers are more meaningful and us...

Moving SD card from Airsense 10 to an S9
I only have one SD card and it is loaded into my S10. I have temporarily switched back to my backup machine (S9 autoset). I want to compare leak rates between the S10 and S9. I have months of data stored on my computer from the S10 but need to record data on the S9. Questions: Do I simply insert the...

Re: Help my poor nose!
Vandownbyriver, you're my hero! :D :D Adjusting the hose up (air entry toward eyes) relieved pressure on the nose during a half hour nap! Slept like a baby. Having the hose enter from below was not a problem UNLESS there was a downward pull on the hose (could easily occur by changing position in the...

Help my poor nose!
Longtime cpap user. Mirage Quattro FFM for 12+ years, Airsense 10, apap 16 to 18. Pad-a-cheek anti leak strap I've tamed the quattro very well when I can sleep on a bed. On Oscar the AHI is 1.5 or less and large leak 2.5% or less. These days I need to sleep on a lift chair as I'm recovering from pat...
