Need CPAP suplies source have ins
Been a while since I last logged in here, you critters were VERY helpful when I started out with APAP. Its been a real PAIN getting supplies locally, so I would like a good reliable mail order source. CPAP does NOT deal with ins. so they are out. I have Medicare AND medigap that covers ALL my deduc...

Re: Leak Question
When my sleep study was done they used a small mask. they had no problem getting a good seal quickly. I had lot of problems doing it myself. I had to try med instead, so I tried TWO sizes before I decided on which was easier for ME. I think its normal to have to try more than one to get what works b...

Re: $$$ issues DME Compliance Monitoring and Insurance
My fam doc sent me to our local horsepital's sleep clinic. I had the Dx testing and titration study done there as well. Everything was done properly and great results. In my case there was a script, but I used the hospital's DME by choice. I came here early on when the OSA issue came up and LEARNED ...

Re: Poll: Should OT posts be banned from cpaptalk.com?
Where does one draw the proverbial line in the sand? One problem is you ban one thing, for a semi-valid reason, next thing ya know other things end up being banned as well. A slippery slope starts small...like a snow-ball. I have not had any weapon or threat should I decide I do not want to read a t...

Re: Blue Cross and Blue Shield bought out my insurance company
I have BCBS for my medigap (5+yrs) & happy with it so far. Yes 2 days is not enough TIME for anyone to make anything but a very very hasty choice. I say stick it out, see how you like it, better than nothing, right? Towards next year you should have a chance to make an informed choice. Gomer PS for ...

One Year Aniversary & Thank You
Well last year I went thru all the testing etc and started APAP just before Christmas. You guys/gals here were an valuable resource that helped me understand the whole xPAP thingy. By the time my sleep studies were done and time for a machine, this site had me knowing at least enough so I did not en...

Re: My Story - Hopefully Helpful to Nervous Newbies!
I WAS going to start a thread on how APAP has helped me.... but ya beat me 2 it! I have multiple health issues, hypertension, kidney disease, multiple sclerosis and 3 slightly damaged heart valves, to name a few. My sleep apnea was mild but qualified for treatment due to any one of my several other...

Re: THANK YOU!
Knowledge is POWER... Does not matter the issue, diabetes, MS & yes even apnea. I have a small eshpogus (sic, wind pipe), nothing new, just nobody bothered to see if it affected things before.

THANK YOU!
Well I have been a APAP hose-head for nearly 6 months, OK 5+ months now. I have been aiming to write this for over a week..but here it is. Thanks to all here who helped me get started with APAP. I found cpaptalk before sleep study and the knowledge about machines, how to avoid a [BRICK] , and advanc...

Re: Where did all the help GO??
Another point: From what I have read, one of the major problems with sleep apneas is the desaturation of O2 from the blood. When I suggested I wanted to get a recording O2 meter he said no. ............................ I went against his orders and got one and although he was right, I am not in any...

Re: Just got a machine, uncomfortable & hate it
Most people have problems at first, I did.
That said, it takes time to ADAPT, tweek & adjust, but after a few months I really began to see the benefits of my APAP and well worth the effort and patience.

Re: Do you have a regular Dr and a sleep Dr?
Surely you jest? I have a list of doctors; -1- Fam Doc takes care of my basic needs & referrals -2- Endo for my diabetes & general endo issues -3- Cardiologist for my heart valve issues (rheumatic fever damage) -4- Neurologist for my MS (great Uof M doc who also runs MS clinic at VA) -5- ophthalmolo...

Re: Where did all the help GO??
As I have said before, my sleep Doctor wants to keep me in the dark and for me to follow orders blindly. I had to ask for the sleep studies in detail and so far only got some 5 pages from the second sleep study. I will scan them and post them. Thanks. Rich -1- Most doctors expect their patients to ...
