Re: To Pugsy

Julie, Regardless of the reason, you chose to address this in public on the forum. I think this should have been kept between you & Pugsy via PM. Pugsy didn't deserve to be slammed in public like that. Try the shoe on the other foot & I'm sure you would not want her to have said something like this ...

Re: Duel insurance coverage, how does it work?

As I understand it, and I may be wrong, the coverage (coordination of benefits) usually dictates that insurance thru the working coveree is primary & retiree is secondary. Unless you have Medicare, in which case Medicare is after working & before retiree. This could just be how mine was handled, but...

Re: FFM for me?

If you want to try another nasal pillow mask, I would suggest the Swift LT because it has a 'frame' structure that might hold up to some movement during sleep. Now this might or might not work for you, its just a suggestion. I used the LT for quite a while before graduating to the P10 & I liked the ...

Re: Nasal pillow challenges

The Swift LT gives a more stable 'frame' to hold the pillows in place. I loved this mask until the P10 came out. When I first got the P10 it worked well first night, then I had problems with it and went back to the Swift LT. After about 6 weeks I tried the P10 again & loved it. I'm now a P10 convert...

Re: Anybody else get nightmares?

Sounds like you could have a sleep movement disorder. If that is the only sleep specialist available, I guess I would go. Another approach might be to discuss this with your primary care Dr first, you might get help that way & avoid the 2.5hr trip. It all depends on how knowledgeable your primary is...

Re: Flexfit 405 destroying the bridge of my nose

You probably need a different mask. Check out cpap.com & look at other types of masks. If you can, try the nasal pillows, this will keep the bridge of your nose free & allow it time to heal. If you must have a full face mask, there are many others to choose from. Ask your DME if they have a 'switch'...

Re: Anybody else get nightmares?

mgaggie, The kicking sounds like it could be PLMD. Did your sleep test show any evidence of PLMD/RLS? Has anyone told you that you kick in your sleep? Sounds like the dog knows the answer to that. But seriously, this could be disturbing your sleep enough that you are still not getting enough 'good s...

Re: Newbie sore throat, stuffed-up ears & sinuses

who else would rather die a thousand deaths than use a full face mask Me for one. The option of covering all breathing orifices terrifies me(fight or flight reflex) so I find a way. I was recently in the same situation. Nose, ears an throat. I turned the humidifier from three to two and my heated h...

Re: Oral Appliance for Truckers

Is the DOT going to consider this as 'compliant' treatment for OSA? I find this hard to believe, since the DOT tends to lean towards the side of caution in terms of safety when it comes to CDL holders. These drivers are operating lethal weapons on wheels on our highways. Since the DOT is now tighten...

Re: can you use a cover on a heated hose?

I cover my heated hose just for 'outer comfort', I sleep with my hose rather unconventionally. I don't use a hose management system, I sleep with my hose cuddled in front of me. Rather different but it works for me. I never even thought about not using a hose cozy. Mine is nylon with as zipper, I us...

Re: First night...

Cathy, Congrats on making it thru your first night! Now you can get some data in the coming nights to compare in Sleepyhead. My hubby uses the F10 & loves it. The joint achy thing is usually caused from sleeping longer in one position than you are accustomed to. I remember experiencing this when I f...

Re: If you have other Heath issues besides OSA

Well, I too have multiple medical issues. Mine weren't brought on by menopause but started in my late 20's when I was diagnosed with MS. That led to various diagnoses, the worst of which was my 9 years I call 'seizure hell'. Several Drs did not think I would survive, let alone drive or live a normal...

Re: looking for a Resmed S9 Elite

George, First, its best to not list your email address, but let forum members PM you, cuts down on spam & keeps you safe from hackers & nuts who aren't forum members. Second, the S9 Escape being offered is a brick (a no data machine) & is inferior to the one you lost, a S9 Elite. Big difference. Bef...

Re: Need some support (may be a bit off topic)

I agree you need to use the data from Sleepyhead to evaluate & possibly make changes to your CPAP therapy. The thing that stands out to me is the Lisinopril. Getting your Dr to let you try another BP drug would be good, there is a very old drug, Hydralazine, that might make a good replacement. Witho...

Re: Cpap when sick?

When I'm sick I get comfort from using Aromatherapy. My favorite is Sinus Blaster from Pur-Sleep, available from cpap.com. In a pinch when I'm out I've used Vicks Vapo Rub on a cotton ball behind the air intake. I can't imagine sleeping without my CPAP when sick, that would make me feel worse!
