Re: Too Much Pressure
@Duncan117, Your medical history might indeed be the cause of your difficulty exhaling. However, since it's not obvious what type of mask you are using (over the nose or pillows), the first thing I would check is the mask setting on your machine. If your machine is set for a nasal pillows mask and y...

Re: Where to buy masks online at a discount in Canada
My preference goes to http://www.cpapclinic.ca in the Toronto area. Shipping is free across Canada and they usually ship same day. It rarely takes more than a day or two to get my order. They don't necessarily have the lowest prices but they beat local suppliers by a large margin. That said, I've ha...

Re: HELP!!! My machine's gone crazy!!! HELP!!!
You may have already done this but check your configured tube and mask types and make sure they are set for your equipment. I've confused the "Nasal" and "Pillows" mask settings in the past. I've also experienced random ventilator behavior a few years back. Turns out it was caused by a nascent tear ...

Re: Battery backup without an alarm
modern switching power supplies, such as on the s9 and airsense 10 machines do not require sine wave input. I agree with Palerider. However, I would switch the humidifier off when operating under power failure conditions. Otherwise, your run time will be rather short. Unless of course you have a he...

Re: Battery backup without an alarm
So I know that while I could get a garden variety computer UPS and plug my cpap into it, I also know that as long as the $!*#@% thing was beeping I wouldn't NEED the cpap because I wouldn't be asleep! Has anyone solved this problem? Did you find a brand/model of UPS which has an off switch for the ...

Laredo I ordered this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Notebook-Power-Supply-Laptop-USB-Charger-W-Car-Adapter-100W-/121208515335?hash=item1c38972b07 Quite a bit cheaper than than the Bixnet, but I think it'll work. They sell this one on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ResMed-S8-12V-POWER-CORD-repla...

Re: using distilled water in the humidiefer
I've been using demineralized water bought from my local drugstore here in Canada for the past 11+ years. It is labeled as having TDS (total dissolved solids) of < 10ppm. When I travel, I use distilled/demineralized water IF I can find it easily and buy it for less than its equivalent weight in gold...

Re: CPAP expected life span
I do have a question on the Resmed #33942. If its possible to use a car 12 volt adaptor as suggested with the plug polarity reversed what is the purpose of the #33942? Where is the need for a DC to DC converter for 12 volt to 12 volt conversion? Does the converter somehow limit the voltage the batt...

Re: Semi-permanently disabling modem in ResMed Airsense 10
I feel the modem will be beneficial to a large portion of Airsense 10 users. [...] People on this forum don't need it, but we represent a small portion of users I suspect. Completely agree. For those who are less inclined to monitor their results with Sleepyhead, Rescan or even the data summary scr...

Re: CPAP expected life span
my s8 just dies with about 6000 hours went to a a10 it's like night and day it's time to upgrade I also upgraded from an S8 Autoset II to an A10 after 5 yrs of daily usage with the S8. However, I can't say I saw a "night and day" difference in sleep or treatment quality. Perhaps because i was doing...

Re: CPAP expected life span
Thanks for the input all. I too am skeptical on a unit 3 yrs past it's warranty. Keeping it for a backup or use in a RV is a good idea. Now that I'm retired I want to do some boondock camping and hiking. I never got the converter so trying to find one now seems impossible. Everywhere I check is "ou...

Re: Clicking in Airsense / Aircurve 10?
.Thank you. Did you try multiple disposable chambers, or did they switch you right away? I only notice it every couple of nights and don't have a supply order coming in until April
My supplier seemed to have seen that issue before and switched me immediately to the cleanable model.

Re: Clicking in Airsense / Aircurve 10?
Hello O.P. To solve your clicking problem real easy, try replacing your water chamber. Preferably with the "cleanable" model. I had that exact clicking problem when I first got the Airsense10. Turns out it was indeed caused by the water chamber (standard Al model) expanding/contracting with each bre...

Re: Resmed Airsense 10 announced today. US availability 8/18/14
Regarding S9 vs AirSense 10 differences, for those who care about battery operation (camping, fishing, hunting, power outage backup, etc), note that the S9 is still the lowest power consumption option. 12 Volts DC power consumption data at 10 cm H2O (extracted from Resmed Battery guide): S8 II Autos...
