Re: Sleep Study for Bipap Titration

Ok, Im back to update. My sleep study went ok. I used a nasal mask for the first time and I fell in love with the extra freedom they provide. Too bad they do not make that particular mask anymore. It left a sore spot on my head for a few days. That's why the sleep tech said they stopped making that ...

Sleep Study for Bipap Titration

Tomorrow I have to have my third sleep study to be fitted for a bipap. I was wondering how does this sleep study differ from a regular cpap sleep study? Also, are there any bipap machines considered bricks? Im trying to avoid getting another brick machine like my cpap is. Is there a machine I should...

Re: Especially for newly diagnosed - Dealing with Change

Just found this looking through some old threads...Im a month in and this is very good advice. Thanks OzJi A mental block, just like any other block, can be taken apart brick by brick. Hold the mask in your hand. Promise yourself you are not going to try to put it on Look at the mask carefully, from...

Re: Newbie here...I believe my pressure is set way too high

Hi - welcome to the club! You're definitely in the right place to get answers. My concern, is why wait a month? Maybe it's an insurance thing, I don't know. But if it were me I'd call every week and complain! Maybe they'll move up your sleep study. A bipap machine is heaven compared to a cpap!!! Ha...

Re: Newbie here...I believe my pressure is set way too high

Update... Well I had my follow up today. Every peice of advice I received from everyone here was right on. He looked at my card and told me my usage was horrible. He decided to lower my pressure to 16 for a month and see how I do on it. If I don't do well then I have to have another sleep study for ...

Re: Newbie here...I believe my pressure is set way too high

Thank you for your reply Pugsy. I was wondering why my machine did not have any software like others have listed in their signatures. I will get with my home health nurse to try to come up with a solution for getting a new machine.

Re: I thought i was okay with this diagnosis and i am just NOT!

I just got my equipment last week and i am still trying to adjust to this. Im 26 and I first had symptoms of apnea during my 3rd trimester of pregnancy. I just replied to say that your are definitely not alone in this or how you feel. I am trying to get over the shock myself.

Newbie here...I believe my pressure is set way too high

Hi everyone, Just got my machine on Monday. Its been a nightmare. I have been trying to use it but I feel the pressure is set way to high for me. Its set at 18. During my sleep study, I noticed the pressure was too high because it woke me out of my sleep. I told the tech this and she turned it down ...
