Re: Fear around new sleep study...

Hi Tec5 - sorry I missed this question from you back at the end of the year - the company that my doc ordered the sleep study from is called ReactDx (formerly BioSerenity). I can't remember now if there was a different name on the actual device I strapped to my chest those two nights - although I d...

does it poke you and tell you to stop snoring?
Reminds me of the sleep apnea support dogs I was reading about. If you're driving, and fall asleep, the dog pokes you until you wake up.

Similarly, the blanket punches you on the shoulder until you stop snoring.

Re: New ResMed full face mask....the F40

https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed-airfit-f40-full-face-cpap-mask Confusing page. The top half of the page shows an under-the-nose FFM, the bottom half over-the-nose. I believe the second half of the page is in error. Yep, the transparent plastic "over the nose" one is bogus...almost bought th...

Re: New ResMed full face mask....the F40

Well, they say that it's good for side sleepers and facial hair. Might be worth a try once I've seen a review or two that verifies these claims *smile*.

Re: Swift LT Replacement

Couple of suggestions. The ResMed AirFit P30i, ResMed AirFit N30i, and Dreamwear Nasal masks all have the tube coming off the top of the mask like the Swift LT. They N30i and Dreamware are nasal cradle masks, not nasal pillows, though, but I found them both comfortable and easy to use. Any suggesti...

Re: Dreamwear PR mask

I used the Dreamwear nasal mask for a couple of years, and am a side sleeper. I had no problems with it, it worked well for me. No headaches or problems with the air supply as a side sleeper, and my leak numbers were pretty good due to the flexibility of it, flexing with my moving around and staying...

Re: Any way to make a heavy climate-control hose less awkward?

I never connect the climateline tube directly to a mask, especially where the hose goes directly to the mask, like over the nose. The climateline is just too heavy duty and rigid for direct use for me. Always use a bridge, lightweight, flexible tube segment...sometimes those come with the mask. If n...

Re: Nasal mask pressing and obstructing my nose

Yes, the ResMed AirFit N20 doesn't work for me, either. Having a mask pressing down around my nose is a non-starter. The mask that I'm using, the AirFit N30, is a nasal cradle mask. The cushion goes under my nose, like nasal pillows, only it doesn't depend on my nostrils being symmetrical. The N30's...

Re: Replacement Machine Reccomendations

Or you can be living in a place like where I live. Not enough cellular in the air for the wireless to work. So I have to take my SD card into my sleep doctor anyway, to provide evidence of compliance. Might as well have the $400 version.

My thanks to the rest of you for offering your thoughts. Oh, one thing @janknitz: you might want to be more careful with your assumptions. I'm a him, not a her. Always have been. I don't think that was being assumed, she was simply speaking from her personal experience, from her point-of-view.

Re: Water Resevoir Question

The instructions with the AirSense 11 say to empty the chamber each morning and dry out with a towel it prolly says the same on my airsense 10 and my vauto. but i've never done it and i'm here to tell the tale. not sure what resmed thinks will happen if i don't empty the chamber, but i'm paying for...

Re: Is the N30 nasal cradle different from P10 pillows?

Thanks folks for the cradle info. Since I posted, I am now the proud owner of a new N30 cradle!! Went to a sleep doc appt today and they had a free sample, so I'll try it tonight. Thrilled with how soft the cradle feels, hope it works out. Correction, it's N30i, though apparently with the wrong ven...

Re: Question for the side sleepers

Sidesleeper and the AirFit N30, the nasal cradle masks work for me. Same headgear as the AirFit P10 pillows mask. Yes, my mask is pushed around some, and I don't have perfect leak numbers. My usual leak number these days is between about 6 and 10cmH2O. Not perfect, but good enough. Don't recall ever...

Well, it could have gone better, but my nose is still there and functional. Won't be using nasal pillows anymore, though *smile*...but the nasal cradle masks are working just fine for me now.
