Most comfortable full-face mask 2018?
I'm trying to help my mother who has sleep apnea and is so tired that she really needs help but is having a lot of trouble using CPAP. What is the most comfortable full face mask? Or at least a good one? Fit/leaks are an issue, as well as comfort. I used Quattro FX back in the day before switching t...

Re: waking up alert in the middle of the night
Check your data, any events? You might need to bump up your pressure. It could also be a bunch of other things, like stress, environment (noise, temperature), nightmares, etc.

Side or stomach, which is better for eliminating apneas?
You always hear about avoiding sleeping on your back for apneas.
Which is better though? Side or stomach for eliminating apneas?
My tongue collapses at night, that is my main problem.

Re: Are CPAP/APAP sales like hearing aids???
Considering that a CPAP is a glorified fan in a box that costs a pittance to maufacture, yes. There's a reason you see old school monochrome dot matrix LCDs on the Respironics boxes. Someone really needs to disrupt the industry.

Re: Anyone else under 40 w/ OSA?
I'm 25 and have it. I was diagnosed with severe OSA when I was 16 years old with AHI 30 (no desats, though, thank god).

Re: Bay Area DME recommendations?
I found one with excellent Yelp reviews (note that Apria and co all have lackluster reviews < 3 stars):

Bay Area DME recommendations?
I'm looking for a good DME in the Bay Area that preferably stocks Respironics machines. I got a list of DMEs from Stanford, but I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good DME?

Re: Getting rid of these RERAs
I zoomed in specifically on the part of the night with the RERAs so I expect fewer test pressure sawtooths to show up in that subset of the waveform.

Getting rid of these RERAs
Subjectively, the last part of the night is extremely unrestful sleep. Objectively, my SleepyHead data shows there are a lot of RERA events (which makes sense because my AHI is still < 2). I think the last hour or so of my sleep is getting fragmented by these RERAs because I feel unrested. Also, oft...

Re: Cpap Tubing Always Tearing The End Off
Plumbers tape (the same thing as the aforementioned "self-adhesive silicone tape") is what I used. I got mine from Wally World.

WARNING: You must replace your mask and tubing every month
I heard on the news that CPAP tubing needs to be replaced every month to avoid contracting respiratory disease because of bacterial growth. Granted, the news probably isn't the best source, especially since disease "scare" stories boost ratings by driving viewer engagement, and it seems like there a...

Re: CPAP has quit heating
I can't imagine how a high resistance wire would suddenly fail to warm up (maybe the power supply stopped working?). It's probably a software problem; check your temperature settings.
