Re: Procedure for sanitizing a used machine
Machines that have odors that do not come out with good soap and water cleaning, I will let them inhale some Ozium form a cloth sprayed with that material and placed near the intake, and will change the silicon seals. I tried that and it works. I didn't find it necessary to change the silicon seals.

Bump. Good for a back-up machine if the run total machine hours are very high... if low, then a great primary machine. The best bet with Craigslist in Connecticut or Ohio is to go there and test the machine if you live in those areas... otherwise use PayPal.

Re: nose sores - ugly subject
The Band-aid was effective, and easier, but thanks. I kind of agree with this bandaid idea, however I just used the plastic securing part, not the padding part . Once things are on the mend, I would stick a piece of the plastic adhesive part on my sore spot with a small dab of neosporin right over ...

Re: New to Forum - Psychiatric Blackouts
I'm sorry but this seems WAY out of CPAPtalk's depth. You need medical and possibly psychiatric help to get this sorted out. Note: I don't mean that in a pejorative way, just in a practical helpful way, so I hope you take it as offered with no hard feelings.

No, don't remove it... I like it. Sorta like Salvador Dali or Escher, but not as manipulative or staged. I gotta admit, It kinda knocked for a loop tho Wasn't it Plato who said that all we perceive of our day to day reality is that of dwellers in a cave looking at shadows dancing on a wall from a ne...

Re: Cleaning this monstrosity
In a nutshell:
Germophobe = clean it every day or more if you are very anxious.
Non-germaphobe = clean it maybe once a month or never depending on how you like to roll.

Re: CHEATING ON A SLEEP STUDY
The only way I can think of is doing an "at home" test. There's no way for them to tell if you were really asleep as long as you keep still most of the night....but then you'll probably fall asleep if you do keep still. starting to think you don't know anything about anything you post. ever hear th...

Try the Resmed F10 full face mask... I went from the Simplus to the F10 years ago and never looked back. That said, it's all up to individual preferences.

Re: Waking in the middle of the night
Search this site for 'sleep maintenance insomnia' for lots of write-ups (the search window under the CPAPtalk logo). It's a common problem and one I used to suffer from. Probably you are just going thru a spell of getting used to CPAP and it will soon go away. IMO getting to sleep at 2am is too late...
