Re: Clear Airway question

Thank you Pugsy, I was hoping that was what I was seeing. I know that as I am getting used to my new Wisp nasal mask I've readjusted it when I change sleep positions to make sure it's sealed. It's really been an easy mask to get used to. When I was using my nasal pillows I would do the same thing wi...

I need help understanding the Clear Airway reading in Sleepy Head. I always have a reading in that area, anywhere from 4 to 9 daily. Should I be concerned? My Apnea & Hypopnea readings seem to stay below a 1, but that darned Clear Airway makes me wonder whats up?? I feel rested in the morning and us...

Re: Medicare Advantage Plan denied basic DME supplies

A word of caution regarding DME coverage if you have a Medicare Advantage Plan. I was just denied coverage of my DME supplies - mask cushion, tubing, headgear - I just switched over to Humana Medicare Advantage Plan as of 1/1/13 and they have denied my claim for typical DME equipment supplies. The r...

Re: Help with humidifier

Hello, I noticed that barely any of the water is being used in my reservoir and I am waking up dry. The room temp is 62 degrees and my temp on the machine is set to 67 degrees. What do I change it to to get more moisture? Thanks, Deenie-deen Deenie-deen, I'm pretty sure you can set the humidity sep...

Re: Getting discouraged....can't get a mask that won't leak!!!

I was experiencing sinus problems as well, wake up sneezing in the middle of the night, not a great experience when you have headgear and nasal pillows, coughing, sinus headaches. My sleep dr suggested I try a Netti Pot and he also reduced the pressure of my machine. It took steady use of the Netti ...

Re: PRS1 Pro Bi-Pap loaner not showing data

Is there a write-protect switch on the card? Thanks for the suggestion chunkyfrog, it's not set to write-protect. What confuses me is that the machine itself doesn't show any data. I just checked again and see that the machine was collecting the data, I was looking in the wrong place. She's got it ...

PRS1 Pro Bi-Pap loaner not showing data

Maybe someone can help me. I had to take my 8 month old PRS1 Pro bi-Pap back to the DME for Warranty service as it was making a growling sound, she set me up with a brand new PRS1 Pro to use while mine was in for replacement or repair. The SD card in this new one is not recording data. I popped it o...

Re: Giving away some CPAP masks

Hi Katie,
I just PM'd you, I think?? It's my first time doing a PM so I hope I actually did send you one.
It's very nice of you to share the masks that do not work for you.
Thank you

Re: Trick That Helped Improve My Nights DRAMATICALLY

fredmertz, I too am a newbie, started my therapy, April 27, 2012. About 3 weeks ago my husband and I were visiting our daughter and stayed in her guest room, the guest bed had an iron headboard, I tried exactly what you are talking about and had the best nights sleep ever, my events and leaks were w...

Re: Poll: How Often Do You Clean Your Tank?

The instructions I was given when I received my bipap machine on April 27, 2012 was to wash the mask daily use a drop or two of dish soap, wash then rinse well, wipe the head gear with a damp cloth, rinse out the hose every day and every few days put a couple drops of dish soap, agitate and rinse we...

Re: Mirage Quattro vs. Quattro FX

I'm currently using a mirage Quattro and was wondering if anyone else had a lot of leaks with it? I was thinking about getting a Quattro FX and was wondering if anyone here has tried it?? What do you recommend? I just returned my Mirage Quattro, lots of leaks and sore bridge of nose. Going to try t...

Re: Newly diagnosed 2nd night on biPap

Saw my DME today, last night was another terrible night with the full face mask, sore on bridge of nose, lots of leaks, swallowed lots of air, ugh . We are going to try the Swift fx nasal mask and a chin strap, I will see her again in three days and we'll see how this works. Fingers crossed!

Re: Newly diagnosed 2nd night on biPap

Use the fleece material to pad the straps. Use some old cotton knit t-shirt fabric to create a gasket for your mask. Just lay the mask on the fabric, trace around it with a marker. Add an inch all around and cut it out. Fold in half vertically and cut a small triangle for the nose and mouth. lay it...

Re: Newly diagnosed 2nd night on biPap

So all you need to do is install SleepyHead and start using it. If your computer has a SD slot then you need nothing else. If it does not have a SD slot then you need a SD card reader/adapter and generic is fine and costs maybe $10 at Walmart. One in plugs into a USB port and the other end you slid...
