Re: Is this possible?
I'm happy to report that last Friday my CPAP machine was finally delivered by the DME. It was an arduous process, and I won't bore you with the details, but thanks to all the information I read on this group, I refused to accept the wrong machine when it was delivered and insisted that they deliver...

Re: OT - Is this Compliance Future? edited
...There are some potentially really nasty legal thickets entwined in here: Will it become routinely acceptable to examine a PAPer's CPAP data (particularly compliance data) anytime the CPAPer is involved in a crash? What if the other driver may be partially at fault, but claims the PAPer could hav...

Re: changes: weight down. AHI up. pressure down. what?!?
I remember a situation similar to yours and about the same time of year (related to Vitamin D?). I had lost a similar amount of weight and spring had sprung. In my case I already pretty well knew that I needed to reduce pressure. There was much less of me out there to push back against the pressure ...

Re: OT - Is this Compliance Future? edited
There are many things we could change to improve the situation but what is communicated here is indeed the reality that we face even today: From: http://www.hmenews.com/article/private-pay-cpap-requirements-go-step-further "People start to fall off the curve, and at three, six, nine and 12 months, m...

Re: Removing Mask at night
I have been using cpap for about a month now. Still adjusting somewhat. Over the last two nights I have been removing the mask during the night and waking up in the morning having no recollection of removing it. I'm afraid this may keep happening. Has anyone else ever experienced this, and if so, h...

Re: I need help
There are a whole bunch of things that cause us to become tired early[e.g. 1]. If I were you I think I would start a journal about this. Note when you noticed it and specifics of how it is affecting you. Also give yourself an examination – what your skin looks like, tongue, how the muscles feel that...

Re: Is CPAP a scam of sorts? - my story
Studies HAVE shown that for folks with severe OSA, nightly use of CPAP DOES decrease the risk of a whole host of co-morbidities including Stroke Heart disease Diabetes citations please Back during the darkest dark days of my very prolonged and very difficult adjustment to therapy, Jim, a good frien...

Re: Sleep apnea tied to diabetes in large study
So what I wish they had taught me in school and at home as I grew up: How to cook and eat very good food that is very good for me. How to live an active lifestyle. How to keep my toxin exposure and intake low. What the Chinese know about medicine. I think it is likely that if I had the above skills ...

Re: Is CPAP a scam of sorts? - my story
I think it is worth mentioning that I did not say CPAP was a scam[1]. It's current implementation: 1. Failure to do unbiased research into how usable CPAP is (and is not) and to present the results of that research to the customer so that the customer can make an informed decision. 2. Sleep studies ...

Re: Is CPAP a scam of sorts? - my story
I'm not disagreeing with all of what you are saying. And I'm certainly not a full blown convert. I've struggled with this condition for many years, without getting improvement. Currently I have great days and bad days (and am only using APAP for a short time). The great days give me a lot of hope t...

Re: Is CPAP a scam of sorts? - my story
What a complete mischaracterization of my post[1]!! An honest quote would be: CPAP is a product that can work for some people. It's current implementation is worthy of being called a scam. Is worthy of being called a scam. Prior to the invention of CPAP, the problem of obstructive sleep apnea was la...

Re: Sleep apnea tied to diabetes in large study
Todzo, The guy I saw called UARS a minor issue and said that apnea and insomnia had no relationship at all. Heck, he wasn't even knowledgeable about issues that were part of his self proclaimed area of expertise. But I did suggest to someone who lives in my area as a sleep doctor to avoid. 49er It ...

Re: Sleep apnea tied to diabetes in large study
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2014/06/140606091159.htm Unfortunately, many sleep physicians haven't gotten the word on that and act like you are speaking a foreign language when you mention problems that suggest possible metabolic issues. They claim it isn't their area of expertise although ...
