Re: CPAP newbie - cornered by my DME & Physician - help!!
Stick to your guns, have the Dr. write the prescription for the Elite if that is what you want. The DME has to follow the Dr's orders of find another DME.

Re: frustrated with DME
You could try finding a new DME. I fired mine after he stuck me with a S9 Escape. I returned it, but they wouldn't take anything else back. Then they had the nerve to try and bill be me for the escape and the filters. I wrote them a letter back and said that I was not going to pay for what I didn't ...

Re: Restless Legs and Apnea
I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea last April, the PLMD about five months later, on top of the Parkinson's. I take sinemet for the Parkinson's, mirapex for the Parkinson's, two at bedtime to control the plmd, however my spouse still tells me my legs move around a lot at night. I take Lunesta to help g...

Re: Insomnia
I have insomnia, my pcp has given me a perscription for Lunesta, which sometimes lets me get a full nights sleep. I have also used time release melotonin. I had a third sleep study which revealed Periodic Limb Movement Disorder, which was masked by the Apnea, which contributed to my insomnia, now th...

Re: 1 month and really struggling...............
I use a time release version of melatonin, which helps keep me asleep. I do have some insommnia from time to time, but seem to have it under control since upping the dose of mirapex I take at night.
You could also add in some vitamin D3, which I have heard helps too.

Re: Apnea is under control, but now have RLS
I'm newly diagnosed with apnea, and RLS. I just switched to a new mask, and I slept the whole night through for the first time last night (7 hours). My husband says my legs still kick, but I've only been on the med (Requip) for 6 days. It takes almost a month to get to the full dosage. My reps ther...

Re: Apnea is under control, but now have RLS
Anyone who has both OSA and PLMD has reason to be suspect of their results, as getting a definitive picture can be a game of cat and mouse.
Makes sense to me.

Re: Apnea is under control, but now have RLS
Nuerontin (Gabapentin) - I don't like how this medicine makes me feel. I did take it before for neuropathic pain issues, it was not that helpful. I have tried Lyrica and Tralaeptal without a lot of success too. I am going to see a neruopathic pain specialist next month, hard to get into to see him a...

Re: Apnea is under control, but now have RLS
My ferritin is at 66, which is good. I had to have blood drawn last month for a surgical procedure and at the request of my neurologist, everything was good, except need to kick up the b12 and calcium. I am supposed to have surgery on my left elbow in September which will require more blood tests, w...

Re: Apnea is under control, but now have RLS
Well, the RLS is new to me. The study mentions plmd, but talks more about RLS, I have had all the tests and need more calcium and b12, everything else is good. It could also be that my dopamine is out of control again, I am sending a copy to my Parkinson's dr. I take d3, potassium, magnesium, multi ...

Apnea is under control, but now have RLS
Just finished a Dr visit to get results of last sleep study. My apnea is under control, since lowering the pressure to 10, I can sleep with my mask on. Even though the study shows I have minimal apnea, my pop and I felt it best to keep using my machine. The new study showed RLS which the first study...

Re: Removing mask during sleep
I started using a chin strap over my mask, which made a big difference as the mask stays on now. I also dropped the pressure on my machine from 12 to 10 which seemed to do the trick for me. It has also allowed me to get more sleep and my AHI is less than four most nights. I had one night where it wa...

Re: best way to keep your mask on?
Thanks, mask stayed on with a chinstrap over it. It took my wife and I to put it on in that configuration, but is was worth the effort. Six actual hours of sleep, haven't had that in a month!!
I actually did up a pair of gloves, just in case.
Thanks again
