Re: Melatonin

49er, have I done "all the trouble shooting".. Yes I think so - I'm a bit of a data nerd.. I've been analysing the machine data since 2006 and know the measures well. I can say my breathing is pretty much sorted. My AHI score is consistently under 1.0. But there are always a few caveats- mostly re h...

Re: Difference between Resmed S8 vs. Resmed S9??

. . . There's one more that no-one has mentioned... That is the S8 will only let you use the EPR feature when you are running it in non-Auto mode. . . . . Maybe that's because the S8 II DOES provide EPR and Easy-Breathe in Auto mode. http://www.resmed.com/us/documents/1012449_easy-breathe-technolog...

Re: Difference between Resmed S8 vs. Resmed S9??

I've recently (a bit over a month ago) moved from the REsmed S8 auto to the S9 auto. I had been on the S8 since late 2005. 1. The difference is noticeable - and is a significant improvement. This was completely unexpected for me - as the S8 was already managing my AHI to a very low level. I put it d...

Melatonin

Anyone have a view on Melatonin ? I've got the breathing part of my sleeping well under control. Waking after a few hours - and then fragmented sleep thereafter seems to be my biggest problem at the moment. I've been thinking about ordering one of the sustained- release melatonin caps - via eBay or ...

Re: Zeo Mobile vs. Zeo Bedside

I use the mobile zeo. No problem importing into sleepyhead. The mobile iPhone app actually uses the website for its calculation. So wake in the morning, hit "stop tracking" in the iPhone and then go to a website on the sleepyhead pc to download the CSV from the zeo website. There's no need to upload...

Re: restless leg/plmd

Aaaaah yes! I understand this fully. Been there The thing is "not feeling any better" is all about getting sleep, and enough good quality sleep. The bottom line is that breathing (while sleeping) is only one factor, only one of many variables. Sure that one does needs to be sorted. But that does not...

Re: CPAP maintenance every 6 months?

And you can get supplies (like filters etc.) easily and very cheaply over the Internet.

The machines don't need maintenance - my S8 has run from 2005 till now without missing a blink. And I consider it to be still in perfect condition - being offered to sale as such... Never had any "maintenance"...

Re: S9 not recording properly

Was the SD card in ?
Was it set to auto start ? Or did you manually start it ?

If it had troubled auto-starting just hit the big start button when you lie down..

Maybe the machine is faulty ? Power supply problems / outages ?

Re: What IS The Process for Diagnosis & Treatment?

Man, You guys in USA really have a totally stuffed up medical system.. I worked and lived in New York in the late 90's - luckily was healthy with no reason to see a doc at all over that 18 month period. My experience here in Oz - for the sleep studies - doctor's fees: zero to me (100% covered by gov...

Re: I Ran this TEST on My Own APAP Machine - You Can too

Ok - minor point - but how did you get the pulse and sp02 graphs in the daily tab in SH ? When I load them in - they only appear in the oximetry tab... I have s9, fx-pillow, don't use humidifier, and have ZEO and CMS50i ? Your 50i is probably not as well supported as the earlier cms models. There a...

Re: Major difference Resmed S9 , S8 - on data storage

Yeah ... Interesting.... But the point is:

If the SD card is not inserted, before use, THE S9 DOES NOT RECORD THE DETAILED DATA AT ALL !! There is no internal recording, as there was in the S8.

Re: 1st night on S9 Auto but ...

Emeraude my S9 is an autoset - I run it in auto mode. My S8 was also an auto. The EPR setting is new for me - as the S8 could not use EPR if it was in auto mode. I have been running it on an EPR of 3 so far - but the jury is out on that still (am leaning towards keeping it). I graph using resscan an...

Major difference Resmed S9 , S8 - on data storage

I hope I'm wrong... If anyone knows for certain - please correct me. It looks like the S9 does *NOT* actually record any nightly data (other than just the summary data -start/end time, AHI, max/median pressure, etc) - when the SD card is not inserted *before* the sleep session overnight. I hope I am...

Re: How often do you have a sleep study?

Emeraude,

If home is oz as you implied.. Both my polysomnographs were "bulk billed" , ie 100% covered by govt provided (free) Medicare. As I also have private health insurance - (MBF) they cover $500 towards purchase of machine - nothing towards other components..
