Re: Any Idea Why My Brain is in a Fog?

Replying to Jay Aitchsee questions: Blood tests? Full thyroid panel including free T3 and T4, not just TSH? How about Vitamin D3 and Ferritin levels? TSH-3rd Generation (ssTSH) = 1.46 (0.30-5.50 mIU/L) 25-Hydroxyvitamin D = 34 (25-80 ng/mL) Ferritin = 45.8 NG/ML Zeo score? How about # of awakenings ...

Re: Any Idea Why My Brain is in a Fog?

lazer on Wed Oct 31, 2012 8:40 am Simvastatin is known to disrupt the quality sleep stages. Just a thought. I used to be on this and after some low-carb weight loss along with going on the xPAP, been able to reduce and change my statins. Just an idea. Might want to look into some alternative Statin...

Any Idea Why My Brain is in a Fog?

Last February I was diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea. Overall AHI = 22.3, NREM AHI = 24.9, REM AHI = 3.1, Supine (on back) AHI = 69.9. Since starting CPAP in March, I've been 100% compliant and my average AHI is less than 1.0 I sleep pretty well. My ZEO score is consistantly around 70. My weight ...

Re: Expert Interview: Dr. Ira Shapira, Founder of IHateCPAP.com

Is anyone familiar with Dr. Steven Park? How well does he know sleep apnea? Is his information biased or accurate? Is he worth listening to?

Thanks,
Ed M.

Re: Software for S9 Users- ResScan vs SleepyHead

I strongly prefer Sleepyhead over ResScan. It is faster. It displays oximeter data and Zeo data. I think it is easier to use and looks nicer. A big advantage for Sleepyhead is that it will display Detailed Data when multiple nights are loaded and ResScan won't. For example, I loaded data into both p...

Thanks for the lower cost ideas. I'll have to use trial and error to figure this out.

Re: ZEO missing awakes (less than 5 minutes)

This is from the Zeo site: "Zeo records your brain activity and decides every 30 seconds whether you’re awake or asleep (and if asleep, what stage you’re in). These 30 second intervals are then used to calculate the Pie Chart. At the same time, Zeo bunches these 30 second periods into 5 minute block...

OT: How Strong is Aroma Scent Supposed to Be?

I went to the local health food store and bought a bottle of Lavender essential oil. The first night I put one drop on a cotton ball and placed the cotton by the air input of my CPAP. The scent was way too strong and caused me to sleep worse than usual. Then I diluted the oil by mixing 10 drops in a...

Re: Pilairo!

I had high hopes for the Pilario, but ended up returning it. The one size fits all was way too tight for me. How they can think that one size fits all is beyond me. Since I can't sew, I ended up loosening it with a piece of ribbon. This kept the mask returnable. http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w...

Re: should I stay or should I go

For an extra hour drive time, get the CPAP you want. You'll be using it for a LONG time. Does the one further away have both the S9 and 60? If so, can you try both during the compliance period? I tried both and that helped with my decision. If nothing else you could hold both in your hands and that ...

Re: Need replacement for Autoset S9 - Ideas?

Not sure, but oximeters might have an alarm if the oxygen goes too low. If your CPAP disconnected and if your oxygen levels went too low, then the alarm would go off. Something to consider, instead of getting a new CPAP. Besides, oximeters are nice to have for people with apnea anyways.
