Does different mask affect AHI?
Previously, I was using the Swift FX nasal pillows. My typical AHI was 1 or less. Now I am using the Aloha nasal pillows. My typical AHI is 2 to 3. Do you think this is caused by the different mask or is this normal variation?

Re: Gee, Zeo's site has certainly changed. . .
If Zeo goes away, there might be a problem getting headbands. Has anyone ever replaced the sensor cloth in the headbands? How was that done? The cloth is available on the internet.

Re: How did you feel before CPAP?
Before CPAP I was tired all the time, with low motivation, with difficulty concentrating and went to the bathroom 2 to 3 times a night. I did not sleep well at night. Now I am tired all the time, with low motivation, with difficulty concentrating and go to the bathroom 1 time a night. I do not sleep...

Re: What is the most extravagant thing you bought for Cpap use
I bought a Zeo and oximeter. Glad I have both of them. The Zeo is used now and then and the oximeter is rarely used. The most extravagant thing I bought for myself was this dryer from cpap.com. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/mvap-hurricane-cpap-equipment-dryer.html I really love this thing and yea...

Re: DME is getting the Aloha!
DME is getting the Aloha! I am glad you explained that. When I saw the title I thought you were telling them, "Go to h*** and goodbye forever!" That is funny! I'm sure there are some people who would be glad to give their the Aloha. Good for you! My DME doesn't have the Aloha. The fellow I worked w...

Re: DME is getting the Aloha!
My DME didn't have the Aloha, and said very definitely that they were NOT going to carry it, ever. So I tried it out via cpap.com, with return insurance, and am feeling pretty unhappy with that DME. I'd be happy to change to a more customer-oriented guy, but I'm still using them at the moment (only...

DME is getting the Aloha!
My DME is really good, except they haven't carried the Aloha mask. I have requested probably five times that they carry it. Because of all the raves here, I was going to buy one without insurance. Just before I bought one, I called the DME and again requested it. They lady said that they are definit...

Re: OT: Why am I being censored and my posts disappearing?
Lazer, I like your perspective, it livens things up a little. If someone doesn't like your posts, then he/she should just ignore them. Why should someone delete your posts when many other people like them? Maybe the SPAM button is too accessible. It would be fine with me if only ten respected poster...

Re: Melatonin?
There was a recent episode on the Dr. Oz show on melatonin. Melatonin is a sleep regulator, not a sleep initiator. It tells your body that it is night time. Maximum dose is 1mg 1.5 hours before bedtime. Melatonin should only be used in three situations. 1. Jet lag, 2. Shift workers, and 3. the elder...

Re: Detecting UAR with a ZEO ?
I'm not very familiar with the ZEO so I'm still interested in what the experienced ZEO users think about this. Not sure myself in how useful the Zeo would be for breathing disorders / events, but only in a general view of sleep architecture. Max, I consider you an expert with Zeo, so if you are not...

Re: Insomnia or Sleep Segmentation?
Dr. Krakow does give advice on what to do IF someone wakes up in the middle of the night. However, his main objective is for someone to sleep through the night without waking up at all. Funny, that's my main objective also! Yes, I guess I stated the obvious. Sometimes people look at the trees, inst...

Re: Can I ask Dr. to perscribe APAP instead of CPAP?
It would really help if you got an APAP prescription, with a range specified, at the beginning. I didn't. After reading posts from this forum I requested an APAP prescription from my GP. She complied. The DME refused the prescription because a range wasn't specified. MY GP does not know a lot about ...
