Re: CPAP hose plugs/caps for cleaning purposes
I clean my hose about every other year, whether it needs it or not.

Re: Study: "CPAP machines do not reduce heart attack, strokes"
And why they chose the parameters they did remains a mystery. Which parameter are you talking about? They only tested people without daytime sleepiness because they thought it was unethical not to provide CPAP to people who experienced daytime sleepiness. They only tested people with preexisting co...

Re: Study: "CPAP machines do not reduce heart attack, strokes"
Frankly, I can't help wondering WHO financed the study . . . The people who make CPAP machines financed the study. http://www.nejm.org/doi/suppl/10.1056/NEJMoa1606599/suppl_file/nejmoa1606599_disclosures.pdf Here is a link to the study: http://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa1606599#t=article T...

Re: Study: "CPAP machines do not reduce heart attack, strokes"
. What the world needs now is a rigorous CV study with enough high-compliance CPAP users that the right analysis can be done (i.e. large enough sample size). Not another study like McEvoy. I completely agree with you. I suspect that my regular use of CPAP (whenever I sleep) protects me from the car...

Re: Full face masks: with and without the forehead part
I need the forehead part. Without it, it's impossible for me to get a good seal. I'll get that annoying leak sound. I use the knob to adjust how tightly the masks fits at the top of my face. If I could wear a full face mask without the forehead part and it would seal, then I would probably do so. I ...

1st SleepyHead
This is my first SleepyHead data. It looks pretty good to me. What do others think? Is there anything else that I should look at or post? I only have a weeks worth of data because I've only had the machine for a week. My prior machine, a Fisher & Paykel Sleepstyle 254, usually resulted in an AHI ran...

Re: Power failure=Suffocate?
You'll still be able to breathe. You'll suffer the effects of sleep apnea, which will wake you up repeatedly. However, when sleep apnea does kill people, it generally does so over extremely long periods of time.

Re: Question About Lowering AHI
To the best of my knowledge, myAir doesn't show the pressure ranges that the machine went through during the night. Did you use Sleepyhead to figure out the pressure ranges? Is there a way to get the previous night's pressure ranges from myAir? I have also downloaded Sleepyhead. I won't be able to u...

Re: Should I believe the new, good results?
This machine will not respond to central apneas. The Air Start series mahines will not accept an SD card. They offer little more than compliance data. It's an Airsense. I had already corrected the information in my signature, which it turns out is much different that the profile. It's now correct.

Wrong. I had updated my signature, not my profile. I think they're corrected now--I'll have to post to confirm.kong wrote:

Should I believe the new, good results?
Since starting CPAP in 2012, my APAP machine has usually shown an AHI between 4 and 10. I couldn't get my AHI below that even when I increased the pressure on the machine. The machine was a Fisher & Paykel SleepStyle 254. I know that that's what my AHI was mainly from the display on the machine, alt...

Re: How to Post
For instance, how do I change my signature so that it include a link to the CPAP supplies noted? You shouldn't, It would be impolite to the owners of this forum who pay the bills, the people you buy your supplies from should do their own advertising, or start you a forum. The supplies links provide...
