Re: s9 vpap flipped over!
My s9 vpap turned on it's side ! I woke up in the morning to find that I had tugged my hose and the machine was on it's nose (hose in back was up, rounded part of machine was down) I have the humidifier, Does water leak into the machine when it's in that position? Did something bad just happen? Sam...

Re: Use fine filters!
I most definitely would use fine filters if my machine was designed to use them.. and change them as often as you can., Mine do get dirtier in the winter with the heater running. Why change them as often as you can? Like furnace filters, I assume the CPAP filters actually filter more particles as t...

Re: Climateline hose .. how can you tell?
Well i took some readings but since I don't know what they SHOULD be I don't know if it helps or not. Counting the pins left to right as you look down the tube's connection end ... Pin 1 to Pin 2 = 0 resistance Pin 2 to Pin 3 = high resistance 10 K ohms Pin 1 to Pin 3 = high resistance 10 K ohms I'...

Re: Numbness in fourth, fifth fingers
I join in with the opinion that it's ulnar-related....it happens to me too but it has happened long before xpap therapy. A good chiropractor could be very helpful, as well as a good massage therapist. The chiorpractor I go to has a LMT in the office and will often call her in for focused work for a...

Re: Help.....still trying to figure all this out.
Are you getting a smile or a frown on your leak icon? I always get confused about what is acceptable leakage, but I just read that an exessive leak will skew the data. I don't think it can tell the difference between mouth leak and mask/normal leak. Mask/normal leak isn't a problem unless the numbe...

Re: Quattro FX leaks..proper adjustment equals smiles
With my Quattro FX I am able to sleep on my stomach with my face turned to the side/the quattro FX resting in the pillow. It gets that good of a seal once properly adjusted. I do get some leak (max of 7 average less than 1) but well within the range my S9 auto set can handle.

Re: boiling stuff
My kids were both bottle babies--(back before breastfeeding was considered 'primitive') Anyhow, I started out boiling their bottles and nipples (they were latex, then) I stopped when I accidentally boiled the pot dry (probably had apnea then) Do people sterilize baby stuff now?--the nipples are sil...

Re: how do i clean my humidifier water tank
I have always used distilled water in my tank--even when in the hospital for my heart surgeries. I have noticed that my tank is now starting to look a little slimy--not green oozing slime--just a little film. Of course the opening is so small I can't get my hand much less a finger in the opening so...

Re: Adventure in La La's Land
Didn't we have this conversation just the other day? What conversation? My original post was on a very important subject that most Sleep Clinics are NOT accredited as such. But you find out about it only after you go there. Last week I ended up in a Sleep Clinic run by one of the most respected Neu...

Re: How do you store your distilled water? In plastic of glass?
I use the cleanable h5i tray and I use tap water. Deionized distilled water is best kept in glass if your using a chemistry lab but since it came in a plastic bottle, leave it in that one. agreed, I think tap water is usually okay if you have a cleanable tray as you can scrub off any biofilm/bacter...

Re: Hoses...
If you are using the climate control hose, it comes in only one length. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed-climateline-tubing-s9-climate-control.html . The slimline hose is also the same length. I haven't seen a way to use a longer hose with the S9. But you can change the setting from climate ...

Re: Hoses...
You can use any standard CPAP hose. You just have to tell the S9 that you are using a standard CPAP hose and not a slimline/climateline (the difference in diameter changes how the S9 monitors pressures).
Unfortunately I don't think they make longer climateline hoses.

Re: Mask Humor
My 14 month old is still sleeping in the family bed (eventually I'm kicking him out). He likes to cover the air washout vent on my mask with his hand. Treats it like a musical instrument. Really, really annoying.

Re: Mirage Quattro FX FFM - Feedback?
I recommend it. I've been using it for about 5 months and with good results on leaks. I switched to one after finally getting a data capable machine and realizes I was still having some pretty bad mouth breathing issues. It's more comfortable than a strap + pillows or nasal mask. I've used it for 3...

Re: Recieved new S9 today, Need set up help Please
Hi, Just came home from the DME , got a new S9 auto , the tech. said she really didn't like this machine. Which really meant that didn't know how to set it up . So this is what I have the pressure is set 4-to-20 the ramp is set for 45 minutes and the erp is set to off. I'm sending for the email cop...
