Re: Sinugator?

Just a reminder: use boiled water in your sinus rinse as there are bacteria in water for human consumption that is OK in the stomach but not in your sinus cavities. At least two people have died from using tap water for their sinus rinse and I don't want that to happen to any of my good buddies here...

Free used masks (pay shipping)

I have a hybrid and a Quattro full face mask that I've work a week or less that I would be happy to donate to anyone who needs them. I would appreciate it if the person/s who get them will reimburse me for the shipping but I really have no intention of using them. I have an Opus360 for my backup now...

Re: CPAP machine is making me sick and causing me lung problems

I'm no doctor either but I use Flonase and I use 1-2 sprays in the morning only. It could be that using so much Flonase is causing you problems. Check with your doctor on when to use it and the recommended dosage. I use it in the morning regularly so it has done its job by the time I go to bed. Let ...

I use a hose clip (available from our hosts or on ebay) and direct the vent so it doesn't blow on my partner.

Re: Long time cpap user having problems!

Mask liners??? Have you tried them? BTW...Replacement: my provider (who is my pulmonologist, aka sleep doctor) says 6 months or "as medically needed" but my insurance says 3 months "as medically needed." I've found it is difficult to get my provider to understand the THREE months as opposed to SIX s...

Re: How can I keep my mouth closed?

I've taped and it worked well as the tape is more of a reminder to keep my lips closed than an actual restraining device. I figured out how to pull up the deluxe chin strap over my mouth and that worked well but basically I hate chin straps and they still let you open your lips so air flows in or ou...

Re: Family OSA

I have 4 teeth removed as a child by my orthodontist but who knows if that made any difference. What I do know if that my pulmonologist said I have a narrow throat and he cannot see down it without a tongue depressor. I'm thinking that the narrow throat may be the hereditary part as I believe that m...

Re: Newbie vs the Facehugger

My first mask was nasal pillows and during my titration study I was allowed to try several masks. I naively thought that I would see the doc, get my machine and mask and go home and all would be well. I think that the people who had everything go well from the beginning may not be on this forum so I...

Re: going to sleep with CPAP

I made a pledge to myself to NOT take my mask off once I put it on and go to bed. I uncouple the hose if I have to go to the bathroom and reconnect when I return. I use auto on/off with my machine so all I do is plug in the hose, lie down and it's back to sleep. I think that once you get the mask co...

Re: Whats the best tip you learned from CPAP talk?

The very best tip I learned was that I had to participate in my own CPAP experience as no one was going to do it for me! Maybe not no one as a lot of people here have provided me with invaluable suggestions and advice and I probably would have not lasted much more than a week or so without this foru...
