Semi-OT: Monthly Rant

My surgeon's office is officially driving me nuts. Apparently, they have a separate "Patient Care Representative" and HIM Assistant assigned to each surgeon. God help you if either one is not there, because no one else in the office will. It took almost a week to get the "care rep" to give me a surg...

There's always boiling, but that's more of a monthly thing.

Barbicide or Hydracide from your local barber supply shop. Same active ingredient as Control III

Re: Newbie with machine question

If you're comfortable with the DS550, I wouldn't worry about it.

IIRC the 560 has a slightly different APAP algorithm for if you leave the range wide open.

Re: Updating the firmware on the PR System One machines

I remember a GPS & a ham radio that chose to commit suicide during a firmware flash which rendered both to the grave. If it was a Garmin, there's an emergency reflash process if the bootloader gets corrupted. Hold the direction button in the "up" position to bypass the bootloader and direct connect...

Re: Mirage Liberty f/f mask, any side sleepers using it?

Since I went to the large pillows, it's been fine.

Only issues I run into are that if I get off schedule with soaking & boiling the silicone, then one pillow starts to slide into the outside of my nares and starts to leak a little.

Why Mark, didn't you see the line that said "Ask your care provider for further details"?

On a more serious note, if someone DOES have one of these (or better yet the DB9 RS232 serial dongle), I'd like to work with you on creating a makerbot-ready 3D model of the plastic pieces.

Re: PR System One Heated Humidifier Wattage

On the side the PR1 there is an electrical connection with six pins just below the air exit. Thank you for the response. I think I will disable the humidifier until I resolve this with the DME. I just double-checked my 50-series with the 60 watt supply and it's only got a 4-pin connector on the hum...

Re: Bummer. Lost Quattro Air

I ordered a Quattro Air from cpap.com and they shipped it USPS First Class. Today, tracking shows delivery, but I didn't receive it. Cpap.com told me they will contact the post office and get back with me. Sounds like the UPS driver that used to have my side of the city 3 years ago. They lost a Chr...

Re: New Obamacare regs make CPAP ILLEGAL!

Speaking of helpful tips, when replacing RJ-45 plugs, it's REAL helpful to keep an Orange or Brown twisted pair together till you're ready to do your crimp. Honestly, most of the time I can't tell the difference between the orange and brown striped wires with any degree of reliability. I learned to...

Re: Cpap.com has free shipping no minimum

That's a good deal because last time I bought six S9 filters from CPAP.com they charged me nearly eight bucks for shipping and handling. That's getting close to what the filters cost retail, plus they were just mailed in a small padded envelope, not a box. I like CPAP.com but I try to group my purc...

Re: Cpap.com has free shipping no minimum

Just used the Shark Week one for a big order (Frame kit, pillows). Wish I'd known about the "Falling" code, I only absolutely had to have the swivel assembly from the frame kit

Incidentally, there's a no registration required site called RetailMeNot where people post coupon codes for e-tailers.
