Re: Snr Sleep physician says AHI of 10-15 acceptable
First I'd ask the idiot if he like it if he stopped breathing 15 times an hour not to mention the waking up part. 10 to 15 is granted, still in the mild range and they would prescribe a cpap in for someone in that range. Go to this site: http://www.apneaboard.com/ They have manuals you can download ...

Re: Mask straps and hair
I generally have pretty cooperative hair. When I take my shower, I dampen down the part of my hair that is "out of order" and then blow dry. Usually doesn't take more than a minute. I end up with a real mishmash of hair when I put on my chin strap and then the mask straps. I've tried combing my shor...

Too much bum to take anywhere. It'll just have to stay here.

Re: Sinus Pain
One thing you may need to work with is the humidifier. I get stuffy a lot, sinus headaches, etc. I do a lot better with a higher humidity. Little more inconvenient as you'll have to fill your chamber more. Beats the headache though. You might also want to switch the time you do flonase to before you...

Re: Can I take a 1 hr nap without my CPAP?
Well, that's fine for you but crappy advice for the OP. It's your funeral but do you want to be responsible for anyone else's funeral??? You have no clue how bad this person's apnea is with or without cpap or how knowledgeable he really is about his numbers. Well,I haven't died yet..My Doctor told m...

Re: Can I take a 1 hr nap without my CPAP?
What Blackspinner said. What's the point of taking a nap if you don't sleep well??? You won't feel anymore rested after an hours nap than you did after a night's worth of sleep pre-cpap. Is there any reason that I HAVE to use my cpap when I take a nap? Overall my numbers have been good and I feel be...

Re: The Repair Game
Can't you talk to your family physician? He should be able to push the issue. I know when my brother's broke, he dealt with a new dme and they just gave him another bipap, no questions asked and his was probably well over 5 years old. My CPAP broke down 3 days ago. I am told I cannot even get it rep...

Re: Fugly SpO2 line with low AHI
I think (won't swear on it) during my sleep study that I desatted down to 80% while on my back even with only a few OAs. I'd watch it. Could be a symptom of some kind of problems you'd rather not leave untreated. My OSA seems to be well controlled with a long term average (almost 6 months) AHI of 1....

Yeah, that would definitely make me be an ostrich and not go to the doc. No coffee

Re: Weird Symptoms
As much as you don't have insurance, you really need to visit your doctor. It could be as simple as muscle cramps (probably what the leg twitch is, as you relax, muscles fire messages to the nerves, not really sure how to explain it.) I do have muscle cramps in my abdominal area but only when awake ...

Re: Heavy feeling in chest
It may or may not be the cpap but until you visit your doctor to rule out lung/heart problems I wouldn't count on that being the problem!!! Go to the doctor. I'd hate to hear you had a heart attack that could have been treated if discovered earlier. How long before I get use to the cpack my chest fe...

Re: Should I get a new sleep study done?
Sounds like it's unneeded unless you need a new cpap and then they will probably require a new study. If cpap is fine and you are fine, I'd spend the money some other way. On the other hand, don't be like me. My symptoms returned gradually and I just never attributed them to sleep apnea issues, prob...

Re: Any recent Colonoscopy participants here?
LOL, mine was sky high too. I just knew they were going to say, "Nope, no colonoscopy for you today. The nurse said, "Don't worry, most folks bp is high before this procedure. We'll take care of it with some medicine. You'll be fine." And I was. Not sure I'd volunteer for another, LOL IThe greater r...
