Re: Husband's LOUD BiPap - and he still snores!
sleep-deprived pregnancy-exacerbated delirious breakdowns. It's been a long, long time but I remember those breakdowns. I had one real doozy!!! Long story but I know, had I had a snoring husband with a loud cpap, he'd have probably been a dead husband and he wouldn't need the cpap because I'd have ...

Re: What is your CPAP pressure?
Okay, I'll add my two cents to this purposeless survey. I started with a 7. I was retitrated in late October, Early November to 12. Result: I fell much better!!!

Re: Need some prayers
I don't know why there is such a disparity among medical folks. I won't go to my local clinic. People tend to be rude, waits are long, etc. Instead I go to a doctor 30 miles away because I know I can trust him, people are polite and treat you well and they take the time to make sure you are satisfie...

Re: Husband's LOUD BiPap - and he still snores!
I'm not an expert but I think you are right. My brother used a bipap and he never snored. As you could here him snoring down the street, you can imagine that those of us who lived with him could hear!!! He never snored again after he was on bipap. The whistling sound is indicative of a leak. If he t...

Re: New User Confused and Overwhelmed
Now if I'd know they came in pink When you are asking for a new RX, respectfully insist on 'leak' data, and if you are looking at maybe subtracting some 'fluffiness', (not that you need to) hint that your pressure might change, so the Autoset is the only one to handle that. Hey; you can request "the...

Re: Covering the mask vent
I would listen to everyone here. You won't even know that you have too much CO2 in your system until someone finds your corpse. Don't block the vent. I've got the nasal pillows http://www.respshop.com/images/resmed_swift_fx_nasal_pillow_61500.jpg and the air blowing out is cold as heck and annoying ...

Re: New User Confused and Overwhelmed
Welcome. You are not unusual. Many of us, including me, were give a cpap, told how to use it (mine wasn't even set up at the house, I picked it up at the dme and shown how to use it) and that was the last I heard from anybody. It's taken me 8 years but I finally decided that I'm not going to be stup...

Re: Little Larissa - please read
Brazillion, I checked with my sister. She had disposed of my brother's bi-pap. Thought I'd let you know. It really wasn't very old, my brother probably had it replace around a year before he died. My sister is anti-packrat so tends to get rid of anything not used.

Re: Any mouthbreathers having success with Swift FX?
I think you'll get used to the exhaust air. To be honest, it doesn't bother me at all. I love my FX too. Hello again all, this is an update for those of you who posted. And again, thanks very much for your input. I got my Swift FX yesterday and slept with it last night using my papcap/chinstrap. Abs...

Bounds to. I would say that it couldn't be worse but I know that's not true. ... Sleep is not only fragile but when its good, it should be appreciated!!! ... AMEN! I struggle with sleep most nights. Occasionally (though not often) I forget to take my medication to help with my sleep problems (RLS an...

Re: Little Larissa - please read
I wish I could remember what machine my brother had. He passed away 2 years ago last month. I think my sister still has his machine. It was a bi-pap and I know it "pushed air" into his lungs. I'm not sure if he was diagnosed strictly with severe OSA or complex sleep apnea. I can check to see if my s...

Re: Sleeping too much because sleep is so great! Advice?
Addicted to sleep??? Probably not. Your body is probably still recovering from all the lost sleep. Try to be sensible about it all but perhaps sleep is what your body needs. I kind of noticed the same thing as you. I've been on cpap therapy for about 8 years however, the last 2 or 3 years, my apnea ...

Re: Vision & CPAP
*sigh* It's always something isn't it. Get one problem fixed and another possible problem pops up. I'll be sure to talk with eye doctor on my next appt about this particularly since my pressure was recently raised. Continuous Positive Airway Pressure Therapy Is Associated with an Increase in Intraoc...
