Re: Dreamstation Go - how to eliminate hose noise

I tried a 22mm hose on my Dreamstation Go and didn't notice any difference. This was before I discovered this latest trick though, so I don't know if positioning the device and hose lower than your head solves the noise problem with a 22mm hose but I assume it would. But I can't think of any reason ...

Re: Dreamstation Go - how to eliminate hose noise

Good luck - I just discovered this two nights ago (I'm on the road now) after picking up a tip on another forum, did a little experimenting and have been very happy with the result. Lowering the CPAP isn't enough - the hose position is what finally made the difference. I wish I understood why this w...

Dreamstation Go - how to eliminate hose noise

I recently purchased a Dreamstation Go, and while I am mostly happy with the device, I'd hear some loud hose noise when inhaling which was annoying. I've figured out how to eliminate it and thought I'd share for other owners or people considering the device. The key is that you've got to position bo...

Re: Portable CPAP machine

I can hear the Darth Vader inhale and exhale noise. But, I got used to it pretty fast. Husband said he didn't notice the noise. The noise came more from the mask than the machine. When I use my PR 560 without the humidifier I get the Darth Vader noise. I use a muffler which almost eliminates the so...

Re: ASV - Flight to Israel & Electricity in Israel

I took my CPAP to Israel two years ago - stayed in 6 different hotels - and did not have any issues. The only thing I needed was a plug adapter. I don't recall for sure whether I took my Transcend or my Remstar PR System One (I may have taken both - the Transcend for the plane since I have a battery...

Re: Anyone used the Dreamstation Go?

There is one positive review of the Dreamstation Go over at apneaboard. Think I'll wait for more reviews before pulling the trigger though. http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread-About-to-order-a-Dreamstation-Go?pid=200550#pid200550 Also FYI, while not yet available on their website, cpap.com told ...

Well, darn. Not the reviews I was hoping for. But not surprising.

Re: ResMed Air Mini - Initial Impressions

Question about the mask/tube noise: Since the report from several is that the machine itself is fairly quiet, is it the P10 mask that is the cause of the noise, or is it the humidifying filter that inserts in between hose and mask? At home I already use the P10 mask (the one that comes with the Air...

No worries - particularly as I was a little gruff with my response - it's too easy to misunderstand intentions on chat boards!

Re: ResMed Air Mini - Initial Impressions

Simple, effective solution to keep from pulling the unit off the nightstand when you roll over, you can get these Velcro hose alligator clips from our sponsor, they work great, don't take up any packing space. I use them with Z1 and have never had a problem pulling machine off the table..... Damn, ...

Re: ResMed Air Mini - Initial Impressions

I think the mount might be a requirement. This thing is so light I can see it flying off a nightstand. Either place it in the drawer or use the mount to attach it to the bed rail or the option to hang it from the drawer of a nightstand. Another option is to use a tube management clip, clipped to th...

Re: ResMed Air Mini - Initial Impressions

I didn't sleep with it, so I wasn't lying down when I was breathing through the mask. Not sure if the Darth Vader type breathing occurs with lying down. I'll get a chance to use it tomorrow night when I travel. Regarding the noise, it may be slightly louder than the AirSense 10 but not by much. It ...

Re: ResMed Air Mini - Initial Impressions

He said it's as quiet as his AirSense. I know what he said. I am asking for more specifics, because I've personally experienced the challenges that these mini travel machines have had, and I want to be as certain as I can be before dropping $1,000 on a new travel machine. The Transcend (and I assum...

Re: ResMed Air Mini - Initial Impressions

Thanks for the detailed report. Is the noise level when using the Air Mini any different from your home machine once you've got the mask on and are using it? Specifically, any motor whining sound when breathing in/out, or any sound of the air rattling in the tube (the "Darth Vader" sound) beyond wha...
