COVID-19 Face covering question

Hello CPAP Members, I am just throwing this out there to see your thoughts about COVID -19 and face masks. While wearing the mask can be troublesome, I understand it is the new world we live in. While we are trying to force air into our lungs, the masks are restricting air flow. Is having sleep apne...

Doctor vs. DME

My current DME company has not sent me supplies for about 3 months. I contacted them to inquire why I am not receiving supplies. They replied that I was out of compliance, since I have not seen my sleep doctor since 2017. They said I would need to complete another sleep study before they will ship s...

CPAP or AutoSet

I am currently prescribed to use my AirSense 10 with straight CPAP at 7.0 CWP. I am wondering if moving to the AutoSet configuration would be better? If so what should the low/high settings be for the AutoSet? I currently am not having any issues with the straight CPAP, just wondering if there is an...

Re: cleaning regiment

I wash my nasal pillows every morning while in the shower with a small amount of unscented dish soap. I use a small basket with suction cups to stick on stall wall to hold it while completing my shower. As far as the rest of the components, I wash the tubes, humidifier, headgear every 2 weeks. I pla...

Re: OT, Sandy Path people

Had to spend last night without CPAP (no power). What a crappy night sleep. It has made me more appreciate that CPAP is what I need.
Thankfully, power has been restored, looking forward to a better night's sleep.
Hope everyone made it through Sandy, safely.

Re: Why I love my CPAP

I could not agree more with KEQ5. I can not remember that last time I needed to get up in the middle of the night to (as KEQ5 said) piddle. In fact, when do finally arise from my slumber, my bladder void is not a whole lot.

Will the body remember how to breathe??????

I have been on CPAP religiously since December 6, 2012 with only 2 nights missed since beginning my therapy. Something that I have wondered lately, will my body remember how to respond, if for some reason, I do not use CPAP? My concern is that my respiratory system may not respond or remember how to...

Re: So frustrated

Hello Tree777, I have been using the Swift FX for a few months and it is going well with the exceptions of some air leaks, however, I usually can make adjustments to correct the issue. You mention that the air flow seems too strong, what is your pressure set at? It may need to be adjusted by your DM...

Re: Nasal pillow questions

I use a nasal pillow mask, Swift FX and I have learned to place my tongue to the roof of my mouth which does not allow the air to fill my mouth. Also, keep your jaw closed but do not clench your teeth, keep the jaw relaxed. It takes some getting use to, but your mouth will learn.

I'm sorry I must have stumbled on the wrong web site. I thought this site was to help people with sleep apnea, not for political agendas.

Re: First night...is this normal?

I have been on CPAP since December. My pressure level is set to 7. I had ramp on initially, but found that the air was not strong enough. I turned off ramp completely. I have been fine ever since. Good luck. as a recent newbee, it does get better.

Re: ELECTRIC BILL

I was talking to my sister about my cpap therapy and she told me a co-worker of hers had trouble paying her electric bill and had her service suspended. Since cpap is a medical device, her service had to be re-connected. I assume she worked out something with the electric company and possibly got re...

Started out strong……..Novelty is wearing off

I started using my CPAP on Tuesday, December 6th with great enthusiasm. I thought ‘I got this’ and was going to sail through the treatment process and start feeling like the routine would be second nature. Last night, I removed the mask after about 5 hours of use. I woke up and felt the need to adju...
