Re: Prepping for the next outage
I have a small propane tank I would use to make coffee using a pour over. Unfortunately I live in New Jersey and they are offering no such things. Unfortunately I only have one machine and that is the airsense 11 and then I’ll have an adapter for DC yet. and so I wait. [/quote] I have a propane sto...

Re: Prepping for the next outage
Never thought I'd ever say this, but good job PG&E! They are providing FREE backup battery power stations for folks who meet certain criteria. Not bottom of the line, either. Instead it's cutting edge. The criteria that I remember off hand: Medical device user including CPAP. Must be on the PGE med...

Re: magic mask or sales hype
I've been using this for just under 3 months now. Still loving it! I've worn the same cushion for 2 1/2 months with no problems. It probably can go at least a few more weeks. About half the nights now I'm getting an AHI of zero. My leak rate is under 3 L/min at most and usually hovers around zero to...

Re: magic mask or sales hype
I've tried it. For me - it's a magic mask. Really comfortable. I've recently had to go to a full face mask after years of nasal pillow masks. Yes, I posted my tale of woe on that. I kept with it and finally got my F20 under control, but am not a fan of the feel of the silicone on my face. When I saw...

Re: Medicare CPAP Replacement Question
I have been using CPAP therapy for over 5 years now. Last week my physician wrote a prescription for a new machine after I reported increased noise and a faulty humidifier. My DME provider filed a claim with Medicare which was denied as their records indicated my CPAP utilization was 9 months short...

Re: Cheek Strap Pad for F20?
Thanks, folks! Hannibal - I read until I get sleepy. Then the plan is to put the book down and go to sleep. This actually happens sometimes. But mostly I fall asleep reading and wake up 3 or 4 hours later. If I'm already am wearing the mask, I still get therapy. Otherwise I'd spend half the night wi...

Cheek Strap Pad for F20?
I've made my peace with the Airfit F20 and actually quite like it now. I had a brief flirtation with Amara View, but have given up on it even though I can use my glasses with it. I gave the View one last try last night and ripped it off at 1 am and went to the F20. Like going from a brand new pair o...

Re: packing a machine with no case
I would NEVER check my cpap. EVERY airline has lost or damaged luggage, and Murphy is the monkey on MY back. +1 My checked suitcase is much more traveled than I am. It goes off to exotic locations, while I travel a more mundane route. I want to be sure my CPAP machine arrives *with* me. Plus, have ...

Re: Advice for me as I try Amara View?
Interesting discussion. I've recently had to go to a full face mask after years on a nasal pillow. I've finally mastered the F20, but can't get my glasses on to read with it. I got a View to try out and so have been following all the helpful hints. Last night was my first night with it. I used a med...

Re: Original Medicare and Cpap
I just went through this last month. I see my sleep doc yearly to qualify for Medicare supply replacements: masks, hose, etc. He had me make a new appointment for just after the 5 year anniversary of my machine. Apparently that's the machine life period that Medicare uses. My machine was still worki...

Re: when is your prescription valid to fill?
This whole things does sound suspicious. However, I'm on Medicare and recently went to my sleep doc to get a new machine. He wrote the script. But he did warn me that insurance (or the DME) might insist on a new sleep study, since I was switching brands of machines. They didn't, but he made it sound...

Re: Now Hating the Airfit F20
Another night with the dreaded F20. I had a good night before last, so I didn't touch the straps or make any adjustments. I may have hit upon the adjustment solution I had watched a bunch of videos on how to put the mask on - settle it on the bridge of your nose, etc. The night before last I moved ...

Re: AirFit P10 Too Tight
Good to know that I'm not the only big headed lady out there! I had tried on the blue headgear at the medical clinic, but the DME sent me the pink. Don't know if the respiratory tech didn't specify or if the DME sent the wrong thing. I''m leaning toward the second choice, as my sleep doc ordered the...

Re: Now Hating the Airfit F20
My wife and I both found the climate line hose would pull the mask and cause leaks. We route our hoses over the headboard and hold it in place with a command hook. We both use the SleepWeaver feather weight hose (https://www.cpap.com/productpage/circadiance-sleepweaver-feather-weight-cpap-tube.html...
