Re: Beard versus Mask - A Solution
I have a full beard, and I use the P10 pillows. I also use a chin strap. The power has gone out a couple of times, but I am still here. The body's defends mechanism will wake you long before you suffocate. Maybe you would get used to not using the strap after a while like some people claim, but it w...

Re: sleep and sex
Many things can cause ED, including poor diet (as in not getting the right nutrition), stress, and pharmaceutical drugs. Check out all of those things, and you might find the treatment may be in your fridge or pantry rather than a pill bottle.

Re: Anyone Sleep Better With Nasal Flushing?
I don't need to do it every day, but when I use a netipot it certainly helps. The Navage looks interesting, but at the current asking price I will stay with my netipot. The "consumables" for the netipot are much cheaper, too.
But thanks for the heads up. It's always good to hear of new products.

Quick comment about the "vegetables" listed above - avocados, tomatoes, and cucumbers are actually fruit. If you care.

Re: Losing weight & its effect on sleep apnea
I don't post on here very often these days, but I do lurk from time to time. So take what I am about to say with as much salt as you ffeel you need. The following analogy works for me, because I trained as a pharmacist and learned that the best way to keep pain under control is to use a low dose of ...

Re: Urgent mask prob, help needed! Please, can you help?
I found that it's difficult to get duct tape or whatever to stick to smooth silicone ... so what I'd do FIRST is try do rough-up the area around the tear with some sandpaper, a nail file, anything gritty etc. You could gently rub the area on concrete or tile grout if it comes down to that Hopefully...

Re: Newbie, but oldie with frequent night awakenings
Joannebc, others will talk about the details of what you need to adjust. My message is don't adjust too much too quickly. I, and a lot of others, have found that it can take more than one sleep session with new sessions. A "good" setting may actually give you not good readings the first time. No nee...

Re: Any CPAP users with beards? (Only men need reply)
I use nasal pillows. Took a while to get used to them, but I have been using them for years now. My full beard made it impossible to get a low leak rate with an FFM.

Re: Moderate to Severe Sleep Apnea Polysomnography Report
There are some excellent Japanese to English dictionaries available for various devices. I would scan the report and use the dictionary to at least get an idea of the words to look for and the numbers associated with them. Start with the summary. Look for the Japanese word suimin. I need to get my d...

I find laying down on one side after the other cleans out the remaining saline for me. Different techniques may work for others.

Re: Resumed japan
A quick Google search suggests that you may be out of luck unless you can find an English-speaking doctor at a hospital who can understand your problem, write a prescription, and direct you to a supply company. I lived in Japan, but was undiagnosed at the time so never needed an answer to the questi...

Re: How do you know when bad sleep is NOT cpap-related?
For those who think a beard is a no-no when it comes to CPAP, it absolutely is not. I find the new P10 mask (nasal pillows) is wonderful, because it doesn't touch anywhere facial hair is growing. OTOH, a FFM is a real pain to get adjusted. I am not sure that I ever did. There have been a few masks t...

Re: forgot to lock sd card
Any way of testing whether there is a problem other than inserting a card and finding it is reformatted? I did find a site that had instructions that might help: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/prevent-system-volume-information-folder-usb . I have just upgraded to 8.1 (errors with Win7, figured upgrad...
