ASV Complex Sleep Apnea question

Never been titrated at a Sleep Lab for my ASV despite being on one for almost 8 months now. Reason being it was such a long process they just gave me the choice of a 3rd Sleep Study this time with an ASV, or give me the unit with "generic settings", and they would tweak it later, as necessary. At th...

Re: Can I take a 1 hr nap without my CPAP?

I need to get me a small machine that will plug into the lighter. Agree with this, or even one better. Since you never know when you'll doze off, I always carry around my portable machine and hose up when ever possible just to be safe. Lately it's been on the City Bus, Taxi Cab rides, airport termi...

Re: OT: Does anyone else still do their taxes on paper?

This strange "paper" substance you speak of, does it contain a keyboard of some kind, or a drop down menu? Used to use H&R block, then realized why are we bothering to pay them when our taxes are simple. Now just use Turbo Tax on line, and if anyone wants to steal my identity, then they can go ahead...

Re: OT (sorta'): Is Sugar Toxic on 60 Minutes Sunday

Thanks for the heads up on the show, it was very interesting. I could relate to the addiction part, and when they documented how the brains pleasure centers lite right up when the subject was given soda. When I used to get stressed out, I would immediately hit up the candy and soda, like a complete ...

Re: OSA and Atrial Fibrillation

Either way I'm glad this thread came up. Yesterday at the Hospital they were really downplaying my arrhythmia's, which I can understand when their probably more worried about an actual Heart Attack. However she was saying, it's really nothing to worry about unless it happens much more frequently, li...

Re: OSA and Atrial Fibrillation

Wow interesting timing of this thread. I just came from the ER a couple hours ago. Out walking the dogs and my heart started fluttering, and then racing wildly. Last time this happened a month ago, they told me on the phone to come in if it happens again. I did, they did an EKG and it was normal. Ho...

Re: OT: Leg Cramps

I had a few incidents of those right after I got on the hose for some reason, same leg every time too. The kind where I would jump out of bed and start hopping it cramped so much. After that I started eating a banana every morning for the potassium, thought maybe I wasn't getting enough or something...

Re: Can I take a 1 hr nap without my CPAP?

Actually don't have the need to take many naps anymore since I've been on the hose. The times I have though, always put on the mask, now It just doesn't feel right if I don't have it on in bed. One night accidentally fell asleep with the Oximeter on, but no mask. My 02 dropped like a stone in a hurr...

Re: OT: Blonde rebuttal

Another true story: My wife (lives in Washington) called me one evening (we talk every night) to tell me she had been leaving the side door to the garage open and she was afraid that someone had stolen my tablesaw (It's a Delta; sorta' my pride and joy). We went back and forth and I felt a little b...

Re: FRUSTRATED!!! Need to vent. Sorry.

Can relate to both of you guys. Have had it happen several times with my Sleep Dept. They tell me to call if there's something I need. I do, then don't want to miss their call back, so I'm carrying my cell phone EVERYWHERE I go. Next thing I know they call back when I'm walking my dogs next to a bus...

Re: Mirage Liberty Squeaking Swivel Joint

Had this same problem with my new Quattro a few weeks ago. First thing that popped into my mind, WD40... ... No, don't think so.
Sounds like nanwilson has the cure. Luckily mine just went away by itself after the first week.

Re: The end of my apnea?

Wow Ken those results look very good! You even passed my average breath rate, which is about 12.5 Does this mean you can kick the 02 additive as well?
Keep us updated this is very interesting progress.

Re: The end of my apnea?

Looking at the Data, Wow tremendous difference, that's fantastic. Looks kind of like mine, but your missing a few dozen hypopneas I still have. I started out with JUST obstructive no centrals. However increased pressure from regular cpap to get rid of the OA's brought about the Centrals, hence the C...

Re: The end of my central apnea?

Ken that is great news and yes I think your really on to something here. I have noticed that the PTB's seem to have a major effect on how I feel the next day also. Mine are "usually" in the high 90's. However the last couple days for what ever reason they have fell into the low 80's. Even though I s...
