Re: OSCAR v1.2.0 is released 10/10/2020
Big thanks from me to the developers. I logged in to this forum to look for a new mask. Last time might have been 10 years ago. I was a user of Sleepyhead (they have Apnea on my drivers licence and I have to get the doctor to sign off).. and I was very sad to read JediMark's swan song as he disconti...

Re: Can I take a 1 hr nap without my CPAP?
despite all the advice I gave in this thread about not sleeping without the machine, I have done that for a few naps this week (my unconscious mind is starting to fight back, the foolish animal thing). I definately have a little but detectable heart pain when I do this. proof I think that sleeping w...

intellipap data module. card must be in for data
For a week or so I had my SD card out of my data module in the back of the Devilbiss Intellipap. using sleepyhead, I cannot get any data from the card for that period, only the previous period and the last few days with the card in the data module. therefore the Intellipap doesnt record data in the ...

Re: Can I take a 1 hr nap without my CPAP?
I always have it on, even for the midday naps. I somehow didnt have it on last week for half a night and had some heart pain for the next few days (a pain that I always wondered about before going on CPAP, upon whence it disappeared, so I am guessing it was heart strain all along - I'll mention this...

and to make matters worse, we can't just round up all the fat people and burn them , as this will generate more CO2, and make more fat people, ad infinitum.

Re: Just bought SD card and downloaded SleepyHead, HELP??
have you tried reading the help that comes with the program, or here http://sourceforge.net/projects/sleepyhead/support in short, you get your card out of your xPAP machine, put it into an sd card reader to your usb ib the computer, start sleepyhead, create a new used, tell it to import the data (F2...

Re: CPAP battery-operated - multi-night camping - carrying all
Intellipap units have DC capabilities, and are decent back up machines.--a better buy. Warranties are now up to 5 years on some models. dont get the polarity wrong like I did and fry the Intellipap, it has no fuse within it, they suggest using their cigarette lighter adapter which does have a fuse ...

trying a piece of elastic under my chin and around the lower straps, loosely wrapped around itself to knot. such that it falls off when I take the mask off. I am still having trouble with my mask riding up at night. Peter G, I am not sure I get what you are suggesting. Please explain. Thanks a piec...

Re: Just decided taping is unsafe
I I wouldn't bother with a UPS for CPAP. Usually it takes up to an hour or more for power to be restored here so UPS isn't gonna last long enough. my temporary UPS lasted for a couple of hours, without humidifier. i also had an option to put a car battery into it... plenty of threads in this forum ...

Re: Just decided taping is unsafe
Where can you buy a power failure warning device? It sounds like a great idea! They are actually fairly common here in the US and found in a lot of hardware stores. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/reliance-controls-power-out-failure-alarm-safety-light.html Above is one example. Less than $20. http...

Re: Marijuana for Sleep Apnea
Thanks hades, I just called a Medical MJ shop here in Colorado and they explained those different strains, which I think would be perfect if there were little or no effect. I don't mind a little buzz, but don't want to end up crashed out on the couch either. In addition, I don't want to smoke it be...

Re: Sleep Apnea, Narcolepsy and Surgery
I have not been diagnosed with narcolepsy and people here seem to think it's not likely I have it... We didn't say that! We said that the notion that narcolepsy causes OSA is unsupported by any information we're aware of! You VERY well may have both OSA and narcolepsy! " (just the nearly overwhelmi...

Re: Sleepy head data questions
I might just add one major , though perhaps not breadly concerning (for most cases) qualification. An AHI under 5 is medically thought to be a good result (to live with), but the question is how long is each event and how low does your Oxygen level go down to (and what ill effects does this have on ...

Re: New Auto Machine
I just bought the Devilbiss Intellipap Auto too! And you are right, it is an excellent machine. Very, very quiet and only the faintest whisper of air flow through the tubing. Unless you are the one using the machine, you would never know it was turned on. The unit is very compact too, which I like ...

Re: Long-Term Effects
So, has anyone increased their cardio activity with the intent to improve lung function and possibly reduce the need for cpap or it's pressure? Cpap has to do with the throat becoming obstructed by collapsing or the tongue not staying put depending on ones architecture. No amount of aerobics is goi...
