Re: A Poll -- How compliant are you?
I do not like this therapy. But, I am compliant. My Dad once told me how he got through WWII by saying, "Snoots, we just did what we had to do." Geez, if Dad can look at his years in the army like that, how can I not be compliant? PAPpy is way less challenging than war! Come on, folks. PAPpy really ...

Re: POLL: Sleep apnea symptoms that CPAP solved for you
My favorite effect of PAPpy? No more complaints from Hubby about my snoring. Now, if he could just stop snoring . . .

Re: Wind Tunnel Noise
I found that I got wind tunnel noise much worse with my pillow. I now use a nasal mask, and only have wind noise when my hose touches my memory foam pillow. Hope you figure out something to help with the noise.

Unanticipated Side Effects of PAPpy
I have discovered a wonderful unanticipated side effect of PAPpy -- I no longer hear our severe midwestern thunderstorms. I sleep right through them. This is quite a blessing; I spent the first 61 years of my life (OK NOT my first year or so) pacing the house, checking weather reports, and being mis...

Re: Your sleep position - who are you?
I voted fetus, but I'm really a fetus-left -- freefaller -- fetus-right -- soldier -- fetus-left -- freefaller. I have to turn at least 450 degrees before I can sleep. This has nothing to do with OSA; I've always done this.

Re: OT: grammar laugh
If you ever decide to put someone down as less educated than you, please do NOT say the following (which someone once said to me): "Why did you let your parents give you one of them country names?" Ummmmm. First, I was only hours old, and they misinterpreted my cry? Second, only my grandmothers and...

Re: OT:Good Calories, Bad Calories....
As far as I am concerned, if it tastes good, someone will tell me it's bad calories. If it tastes terrible, I can eat as much as I want -- exactly none!

Re: Covering the mask vent
I vote for a new mask. I had the Swift for her nasal pillow for a while. I never had a problem with cold air hitting me. I changed because the mask just didn't fit. Don't be shy about asking for a different mask -- insurance usually covers mask changes within the first month. Good luck.

Re: women with apnea
I've been a snorer for years, just like my mom (and dad). I went for the sleep study to prove to Hubby that I do not have apnea. Boy, was I surprised! I still feel like a woman -- after 62 years, I just can't figure out how not to be a woman. But, yes, the adjustment to PAPpy can be difficult. I'm 6...

Re: air noise
I have found that adjusting the hose angle at the mask can make the air noise quieter. It seems that putting the hose coming in from up above is best. I guess that's about a 90 degree angle compared to hose lining up with my chin. Does that make sense? I don't feel like I'm describing this well. Dif...

Re: How many members on CPAP or BiLevel also take sleeping pills
I take pills to help me sleep because I have fibromyalgia. Without pills, PAPpy or no PAPpy, I just nap. With pills, I sleep most of the time. PAPpy doesn't seem to make much difference in actual sleep for me; Hubby loves it 'cause he can sleep.

Squeak, squeak, update
Saw my DME today. They are giving me a new machine. Hum. I expected some resistance, but they were very helpful.

Well, if you don't want to get involved in political or religious discussions, don't read or reply. The posters who want to create a furror can't do so in the absence of replies -- no fuel equals no fire.
