Re: Minimum pressure on ResMed S9 Autoset
After an event, it will maintain a pressure that represses another event. It has internal algorithms and sensors that determine this. It make take a pressure of around 6 to keep your otherwise collapsed airway open. My magic numerber is 14.2. Each person's anatomy is different.

My husband and I laugh about how George Noory can keep a straight face and straight voice when commenting on some of those weird topics. He is so good at remaining neutral and non-offensive to everyone.

Re: Newbie with nose question...
Hi Newbie, Welcome. Being a mouthbreather does not preclude you from trying other types of masks. You can use a chin strap or tape or chin up strips. After about 6 months of taping, I was able to re-train myself to keep my mouth closed. I haven't taped in 6 months and am doing great with nasal pillo...

Re: Stomach sleeper needs HELP
Google the Falcon position for sleeping as an option. I am also a stomach sleeper. I have found I can use an extra pillow under my side/stomach to allow me to sleep in an almost stomach position with ease. I have nasal pillows.

Re: first airplane trip with machine
I just flew in and out of Reagan National and ATL Hartsfield International was not asked to unpack my cpap bag. I placed the zipped bag in a bin by itself, it went thru the scanner and no questions asked, no swabbing, no inspections. I did not have any liquid packed. Just machine, mask and extension...

Re: New to CPAP -- Humidity Question
Hi Paul, I have same machine, but use the climate line so humidty is set to a temperature. You will find you use more water some nights and less others. Depends on climate conditions and your body. I fill mine below max fill line and usually have plenty left in the morning. You can continue to use t...

Re: Cpap Pillow?
I use regular pillows, but I use the Sobakawa cloud intermittently. I switch things up depending on mood. Sobakawa available at BB+B for $20. It is small so I use it on top of a regular size feather pillow. Some of our members swear by the Buckwheat hull pillows. The hulls are firm and cool and don'...

Re: Auto adjusting resmed problems help!
My husband has an adjustable resmed machine.. He uses a resmed mask.. He rate is adjusted between 4-18. It adjusts through the night... But it takes an hour or so before he stops snoring... Or hitting himself.. The mask doesn't leak.. I don't even bother going to bed for atleast an hour after he do...

Re: How to sanitize equipment and how often?
We wash our humidifier tanks, hoses, and mask parts in warm soapy water (ivory liquid soap) once a week. If we are busy or forget, we don't sweat it. We use distilled water in our humidifiers so there is no buildup. Hubby wipes his mask with mask wipe each day.
