Re: Recently diagnosed with sleep apnea (AHI 52)

Hi Chefmate, I sympathise with you as i feel exactly the same as you do. I've suffered from chronic depression and anxiety for most of my adult life. Fatigue and exhaustion is the major factor. Now, what i have to say may not be popular but this is what i have found after being diagnosed with severe...

Nose Bridge protector

Has anyone made their own Nose Bridge protector? I've tried the pad-a-cheek and the Gecko products but they made my nasal mask leak quite badly around the eyes. I've been using a bandaid however i'm starting to get a blister on my nose. Any suggestions?

Re: Fuzzy Head and fatigue

Yes, i have this too. I've been on CPAP for nearly 3 years now and it has improved my fatigue a little but i can still sleep 16 hours a day if left to my own devices. I've had 5 sleep studies and 3 mslt's during this time all with mixed results. Basically, it seems that i have fragmented sleep with ...

Re: Anesthesia Issues/3-6 Turbinate Red./Septoplasty Surgery

I had turbinate reduction/Septoplasty surgery about 18 months ago. No dramas at all. Anesthetist asked me a few questions before surgery about allergies etc. I then informed him that i use CPAP and he asked me what pressure i was using. That was it. The only thing i noticed was that someone was sitt...

Re: How did YOU Resolve Your Mouth-Leaks? (poll)

My mouth only seems to drop open in the last hour of sleep. More annoying than anything else and my leak rate is still small.

Re: Insomnia, UARS, or both?

This is interesting info re UARS. Due to a possible sinus infection, i recently saw an allergist/respiratory doctor who also happens to specialise in sleep disorders. When i told him that CPAP therapy wasn't really working for me, he suggested either UARS or Hypersomnia. He's given me a steroid spra...

Re: Going under Anesthesia while having Central sleep apnea.

I had a septoplasty and turbinate reduction done about a year ago. The anesthesiologist met with me before the operation and i told him then and there that i had sleep apnea. He asked what pressure i was on and all was good. Just before going into surgery, he told me that he suspected i had sleep ap...

Re: Karens new mask liners are awesome!

I think i must be the only person on this forum who hasn't had a lot of luck with the Pad A Cheek liners. The only mask that the liners did work well on was the Mirage Quattro however the mask itself didn't end up suiting my face shape so i stopped using it. I've kept on ordering different liners fr...

Re: Periodic Limb Movements in Sleep Study

Hi kteague, I think we've chatted before I've had all the blood tests done and they all came back normal for iron, thyroid etc. I've endured five sleep studies and mslt's in the last two years with each test pretty much contradicting the last. One test had lots of rem sleep, the next had pretty much...

Re: Periodic Limb Movements in Sleep Study

In may last two sleep studies, plmd was recorded. In the first, not many but arousals were happening as a result. In the most recent, i had a lot of leg movements but no arousals were recorded due to leg movements. I've tried medication for plmd but it made the movments significantly worse (Sinemet)...

Hybrid users - any other suggestions?

I'm wondering if any other InnoMed hybrid users have had success with other full face masks? The Hybrid has been my mask of choice for the last 18 months and is really the only mask that has worked for me. However, i'm starting to find one particular area of the mask is now causing an ongoing bliste...

Re: Place to buy a CPAP Pillow in Oz and looking for TAP PAP

I was looking at buying a cpap pillow a few months ago and after doing my research, i ordered the cpap pillow from cpap.com. Unfortunately, i could not find a local supplier in Oz. The pillow is ok however it isn't the most comfortable pillow i've slept on. Not long after getting it, i spotted a $30...

Re: Excessive Daytime Somnolence - Help, please!

Oldern, I also suffer from excessive daytime sleepiness even though my CPAP treatment is optimal and my stats are great. Basically, i'm now on stimulants (dexamphetimine) to get me through the day. I'm going to talk to my sleep doc about trying the newer 'wakening' meds such as Modafinil or Provigil...

Re: New Member, Question about Hybrid Mask

I'm a big fan of he hybrid as it's the only mask that has worked for me. A few things to consider: Yes, i find the noise coming from the air holes sounds very similar to a leak. Some nights have found me going nuts trying to find the source of the leak noise to only find it's the normal air holes. A...

Re: CPAP still not working so did an experiment

Sir NoddinOff, Very good point and something i've also been experimenting with. I used to consume huge amounts of caffeine on a daily basis to combat the tired feeling. My daily dose used to be coffee in the morning, coke for lunch, maybe another coke mid arvo, coke for dinner and then chocolate aft...
