Re: Any tips for dry mouth?

I get my typoallergenic filters from my DME for free, they give me 2 filters every two months but I have to call them, to get them. I would also seriously try using the pur sleep, it is much better than a vicks or a vapor rub. They sell it at cpap.com I use it when I have a cold, and I wake up, and ...

Re: Any tips for dry mouth?

Dry mouth is a tough one, you may want to try biotine toothpaste, to help with dry mouth, some swear by it. It's the only one I will use, but it is no miracle for me. As for your nose condition, what about trying hypoallergenic filters, I have seen some improvement with use them, also maybe a nasal ...

That's an old model, any chance you can get an upgrade through insurance. It sounds like it has served you well. I don't know the expected life of the Machine.

Re: Mask comfort and Ambien

Hi Blackcat99. I think it is wonderful that you are still doing the therapy, even though you need the ambien to help you out. No one wants to be on meds, but I think you have to weigh the pro's and con's of the effects of sleep apnea, vs the use of ambien. Have you tried a different mask? I don't se...

Re: #3 idiopathic hypersomnia

Not answering your questions here now, but please keep all your notes in one place, under one thread so we can get a history, and respond hopefully somewhat intelligently based on the whole thing rather than run all over to look at your other notes first. Thanks! This is your third thread. As Julie...

Re: Hose condensation.

I have to save that a heated hose is wonderful, and I even got the resmed CPap slim line hose cover. I'm not sure if you can use another cpap cover like the cloth fuzzy ones when it is heated, but you have those options too. Also I found out, that putting my cpap, on the ground or lower to the groun...

#3 idiopathic hypersomnia

Does anyone of you suffer from Idopathic hypersomnia? Can you tell me how you were diagnosed? I know some people take stimulants, I have not been diagnosed with this, illness, but I have been put on stimulants to try to keep me awake. They don't work for me. So I am looking for reasons why I am not ...

#2 Question Chin strap

Hello, This is my second question for today. I am using my Cpap and it has the function to tell me of leaks and what not. My father, told me that he noticed that I was breathing out of my mouth when sleeping. I use nasal pillows. I look at my Cpap data and my leaks are very very low. Should I be bre...

Re: Need lots of answers #1 pressure of 19.9

Hi, Sorry that I didn't make my post much clearer. When I refer to them, I am meaning the hospital that I go to, that did the sleep study, is not responding to me or calling me back, I have called the doctor and left a message, I have talked and left a message for a nurse, I also called a person tha...

Need lots of answers #1 pressure of 19.9

Hi Everyone, I haven't been on here in a while, and I could really use your advice, wisdom and thoughts on several things. I think maybe it is better to do one topic at a time. I went for another sleep study, but failed as I couldn't do it, because they wanted me to fall asleep with out my mask. I h...

Re: Hose wrapped up

I think a hose buddy might help you. I know I have pulled my cpap off my bed side stand, I wish they would come up with a suction cup type thing to secure it. Anyways when I was in school we had a product by 3M I believe, it was this bendable think, but firm plastic that was Velcro. I used this to V...

Re: On CPAP 1 Month. Can Only Sleep Half the Night

I don't have an answer, but want to encourage you to keep at it. Wearing it for part of a night is better than nothing, maybe by doing that, you will get used it it and sleep the whole night, who knows. Cpap is very hard for some people, it was so hard for me, but once I got used to it, I can't be w...

Re: Water or soda

What will happen if I use soda instead of water? Typical teenager post.... a funny post every now and then is good to keep us laughing. If you evaporated all the soda you would probably be left with a syrupy goo. I have seen them boil down soda, and it is pretty nasty how much stuff is in it. Don't...

Re: Resmed S9 elite vs. AirSense™ 10 Elite CPAP Machine with Hum

I honestly don't know why they are not all auto set. DMEs want a cheaper thing they can dump on unsuspecting people, so manufacturers defeature their machines to give different price points. same thing happens in a lot of places... one of the current 'fun things' with electronics tinkerers is buyin...
