Re: Earplugs & CPAP

I started wearing earplugs in 1988 when I was working a job on the graveyard shift. After I finished that job, I was excited to be able to not have to wear earplugs, but I never slept well. So I started wearing them again. Once in 1996, I flew to Turkey and my bag was delayed. While in Turkey, I cou...

Re: Hose cover

I have never seen a hose cozy with heat. A person can make their own heated hose with reptile heater cable if they are handy like that. It used to be commonly discussed here on the forum back before the store bought heated hoses and the only heated hose available was the Aussie for $150. http://www...

Re: Hose cover

Do heated hose covers exist?

I've seen heated aftermarket hoses, but bot hose covers. I don't like those because it is expensive to replace the hose. A heated cover would solve this issue.

Re: Drying out my hose

When I wash my hose, I typically swing it around my head and rub it up and down creating a vibration to release the droplets, then let it hang for a while. However, i recently discovered that there were still droplets in my hose after two weeks! They were small, but still there. This really surprise...

Re: Kind of OT...23andme

genomic DNA sequencing is going to change everything - it is the probably the biggest event in medical history although it will take quite a while to make its way into the clinics and into the cultural consciousness. For example, if we sequenced the genomes of everyone in here and compared it with ...

Kind of OT...23andme

I did a search and there are only two threads that mention 23andme. Since they lowered the price to $99, I pulled the trigger and ordered two kits, one for me and one for my wife. My wife just didn't want to do it, so I'm giving it to someone else. I'm curious if anyone else has done this. Sleep apn...

Re: Why Sleep Apnea Victims Cannot Sleep On Their Backs?

... I try not to think of myself as a sleep apnea victim any more than I think of myself as a nearsightedness victim. I realize that kind of comment can make me sound like some sort of PC jerk or like criticism, but honestly I mean well. After a while everyone has some health issues. Fortunately, w...

Re: Hose drying time

I just use it the same night I wash it and it drys out in no time. I have used this answer for the last 3 ,241, 843 posts about hose drying. That's what I normally do as well. But for some reason, unknown to even me, I decided to change hoses. Since the other hose wasn't bad, just old, I thought I'...

Re: Hose drying time

Dave, Do you still have your old PR S1 Auto? I know a few of the people here who use a back-up machine to dry their hoses after cleaning. Some others will rotate two or more hoses so that the time it takes for a newly cleaned hose to dry isn't as much of a factor because of being able to use one of...

Hose drying time

About two weeks ago, I changed my hose. Not sure why I did, but I decided to do it any how. The old hose still was fine as there were no holes, so my thought was I'd wash it, dry it then store it for emergency use in the future. Well, it turns out that after a couple of weeks of just hanging around,...

Re: Does CPAP cause acid reflux?

I have seen you post this many times. Perhaps I am misunderstaning your terminology, but when I have my oxygen checked at the hospital or sleep study, they want it above 96%. Are you saying that it is BAD for it to be at 96% of above? It seems like you are saying that when we have what is considere...

Re: CPAP Hose Cleaning and a brief sideline about humidifiers

The problem for me is the mold/mildew that can grow in the hose from all the moisture. A rinse once a week or two should be enough to prevent this.

After I do this, I like to spin the hose around to get rid alot of water then I let it drip dry.
