Re: Forced to use Crapria (Apria)
For Kaiser, that is exactly the case. Kaiser is the DME and Aprea handles the logistics. They still suck, but at least the suck doesn't suck directly out of your wallet. [/quote] Yes, you are correct that Kaiser is your DME, but Crapria still does the billing for what they supply and my experience ...

Re: Forced to use Crapria (Apria)
Yep I had them send me the wrong supplies the first time. They didn't even bother to verify what mask and cpap machine I had.

Re: Forced to use Crapria (Apria)
I do wonder if Apria knows how terrible people think they are. I wonder if they even care.

Re: Forced to use Crapria (Apria)
I would be very curious what my Medical Group is paying for the supplies. Since it isn't going directly through my insurance, their are no claims from Apria. I suspect the amount they pay is supposed substantially lower than what I would pay if I went to Apria Direct and paid out of pocket. I would ...

Re: Forced to use Crapria (Apria)
I suspect the Medical Group is getting a nice deal from Apria. They are probably thinking they are savings tons of money compared to the old way of doing it. Too bad US healthcare is so amazingly dysfunctional, even over the simplest things like routine medical supplies. I am 99% sure the most impo...

Re: Forced to use Crapria (Apria)
Anyone else forced to use Apria? Also how is Apria convincing all of these companies to use them exclusively, are they offering deep discounts? I am beginning to wonder if technically my DME is my medical group and Apria who they contract with to get supplies sent. For Kaiser, that is exactly the c...

Forced to use Crapria (Apria)
I don't want to get into the fine details, but basically with my insurance I am forced to use Crapia (Apria). Not only that but I must go through my doctor every time I order supplies. Yes, I can't even go through Apria directly to order. The only saving grace is I have zero copay. I have an HMO. It...

Re: NPR article on apnea and insurance
Wow,
While I agree weight loss can help, I for one could lose around 70 lbs, but in the mean time I shouldn't suffer through the night with an SPO2 of under 80%. It is dangerous to say treatment should be withheld for people with dangerously low O2 levels at night, to encourage them to lose weight.

Does your machine give full data such as AHI a night or week?

Re: Sleep test results - apparently negative
I thought a home study shouldn't be used to rule out sleep disorders. I was under the impression that a full sleep study was best if it could be done. A full sleep study would include an EEG and EKG.

Re: Good SPO2 at night?
I feel fine so far, one slight concern I have is when I first started using the CPAP my average SPO2 at night with it was around 97%, my average awake SPO2 use to be around 98% too. Not sure if this slow decline in SPO2 over time is important though. Just to be clear it was 97% with the CPAP when I ...

Re: Has anyone had success with the Quattro FX?
I use the Quattro FX when I have nose problems that prevents me from using my Swift FX. Out of the different full face mask I have tried I like the Quattro FX the best, but I still like the Swift FX better. The Swift FX gives me an average AHI of around 1.5, while the Quattro FX gives me an AHI of a...

Good SPO2 at night?
What level of SPO2 is good for sleep? My average SPO2 at night seems to be 94% with some drops to 92 and some rises to 97%, with 94% being average. Awake it is around 95% on average, so only a sleep drop when asleep. I thought anything above 90% at night was good, but I was reading that it should be...

My untreated sleep apnea has resulted in kidney damage. :(
Doctor have confirmed I have kidney damage due to persistent stage 2 hypertension, most of which was due to my sleep apnea. If I had only known how serious sleep apnea was I wouldn't have waited 8 years to see a doctor about it.

Re: Worried I won't be able to meet the compliance requirements
Good News people, I was compliant. The card actually had 55 days of data on it, and I assume they were actually allowed to use any 30 days in the 55 day period not just the first 30 days.
