Re: Snoring with mouth closed

Ok, after wasting too much time and money with the ENT dr I think I figured it out on my own. I've been recording my sleep to see if different things help. Diet, meds (glucocordicoids/antihistamines/others), timing, etc. Was even trying antihistamines as that seemed extreemly likely. But nope, nothi...

Re: Snoring with mouth closed

Well, I can breath through my ears, but can't seem to snore through them. All kidding aside, I'm now thinking of not getting the sleep study as my insurance only pays for part of it, but it's still a lot of money out of pocket. It appears that the Sleep Study is $4800, and so out of pocket would be ...

Re: Snoring with mouth closed

Yep, though I'm very sure it's not sleep apnea what ever it is. Did another video recording and though I snored a couple of times I slept through both times and O2 didn't change. I'm thinking I might just be overly sensitive to my breathing, sounds or ??? and waking up. Tried sleeping in a different...

Re: Snoring with mouth closed

Saw the sleep Dr and I'm getting a sleep study in a couple of weeks. Just need to make sure insurance will cover it, and if not figure out how much it might be to pay for it.

Re: Snoring with mouth closed

LOL Yeah, I started thinking, what if I see something or someone walk past my bed. Spooky. I fast forwarded to spots that were of interest on the Oximeter report and I also wrote a program that finds parts of the audio with noise and go to those sections to see what the noise was. I assumed that lyi...

Snoring with mouth closed

Ok, me again. It appears that I'm so talented I can snore with my mouth closed. LOL Anyway I was able to get my video camera set up with an IR light and I'm most definitely snoring with my mouth closed. Most snoring I read about is with the mouth open. Also I was snoring while lying on my stomach an...

Re: My trial with an Oximeter [mle_ii]

Found this which seems to imply that sleep apnea and bradycardia/tachycardia can occur.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9236445

Also found another item that said that resting HR can decrease to around an average of 20 BPM when sleeping, higher for younger, lower for older.

Re: My trial with an Oximeter [mle_ii]

More sleep results. Decided to try keeping my window open and to use a nasal rinse last night in the case that it is UARS. Though I didn't get enough sleep last night and still feel tired, the blood oxygen results seemed better. And I had an IR video camera set up to record my sleep last night, but ...

Re: My trial with an Oximeter [mle_ii]

I have an appointment with a Dr at a sleep clinic here in town this Friday. So we'll see where that goes. That said, I've done a few more nights of oximeter/pulse readings and they're pretty much the same/similar results. I might post more. But now I think I might be on to something. I think I might...

Re: My trial with an Oximeter [mle_ii]

Well, night 3 with it and no alcohol nor heavy exercising. Seems like not much around my blood oxygen is going on, at least that I can tell. But something is making me feel like I'm not getting enough sleep. Not sure if I should go with a sleep study but my Dr set up a referal, so I'll look into it....

Re: Morning Tears or Ache behind eyes?

Sorry, haven't been diagnosed yet so no gear.

Tears don't bug me much other than wondering what's causing them. The ache behind the eyes bugs me though.

Morning Tears or Ache behind eyes?

I'm curious if these might be symptoms of Apnea. I notice that most mornings after waking up my eyes tear up a lot. My eyes don't look or feel irritated and I'm not sad.

Also I get this tired feeling or ache near or behind my eyes. Feels like a pressure or weight pushing.

Re: low carb diet?

I lost about 40 lbs on an Atkins like diet and my blood lipid tests improved as well. Though honestly I wouldn't do that type of diet again, more recently I used something more isocaloric (needed protein levels + carbs and fats that got me within the calories I needed to lose), where carbs were only...

Re: My trial with an Oximeter [mle_ii]

Ok, night 2 and there was definitely an event down to 87%, though it was partly alcohol induced as I had a couple of drinks with dinner. Heart Rate When I went to bed my HR was at around 70 bpm. There is more strangeness around my HR tonight, but most likely again was alcohol. HR stayed right around...

Re: Oximeter Results: CMS-50E

I understand, but I couldn't see all the hand gestures while you were typing. ;D If it's loose enough you're right, most likely wouldn't effect blood flow.
