Re: Dreamstation SD card blank?

I would be wondering why cpap mode worked during the sleep study and not now. What changed? I would also be requesting a copy of those sleep study results for my records and to make sure that the sleep study with just cpap was indeed pointing to adequate treatment at 6 cm fixed pressure. Yes, I am ...

Re: Dreamstation SD card blank?

Your current settings are not getting the job done. Any special reason for these settings? Well, yes... There is a reason. I had a BiPAP ASV and was doing pretty well with that. But, it was getting old, making funny noises, etc.. I wanted a new machine. Sleep doctor said that was fine, let's do ano...

Re: Dreamstation SD card blank?

Thanks for the help. I had to use a different SD card and I was able to get the data. I downloaded Encore 2.22.2.0. Sleepyhead is a much more user friendly program, indeed, but it was getting goofy on me. This is one example. The AHI just drops off and disappears. I had posted about it when it first...

Dreamstation SD card blank?

I have been using a Dreamstation DSX 500 CPAP since 27 July. My AHI has ranged between 2.9 and 78.9. I have an appointment with the sleep doctor in a couple weeks. He had his assistant let me know that we will be talking about the disconnect between my sleep study results, my over night pulse oximet...

Re: Changed Settings- Questions re: Graphs

Anyway you can get a hold of Encore software and see if the same problem shows up on Encore? I am going in to see the RT who works for the DME place on Monday. I am hoping that goes okay. When I talked to her on the phone, she sounded like someone who would prefer to give me my AHI and be done with...

Re: Changed Settings- Questions re: Graphs

Machine is a 950. SleepyHead v1.0.0-beta-2. Something else that has been happening is that SleepyHead is not showing the entire time that I was using my machine. At first, I thought maybe I was turning the machine off or incorrectly remembering when I turned it off in the morning. Last night, I made...

Changed Settings- Questions re: Graphs

The results of a recent sleep study showed that my sleep breathing looked better with CPAP with a pressure of 5, rather than using the BiPAP ASV I have been using. I changed the settings on my machine and had a question about the graphs. 1. The "Mask Pressure" graph... Some nights the graph is blank...

Re: Fired My Sleep Doctor

Last night, I reset my machine to the settings it was at following the appointment with my doctor on 03/21, with the exception of the BPM. He had set it at auto and I left it at 6. Although these settings produced inconsistent results, it seemed like overall, they were better than with the machine s...

Re: Fired My Sleep Doctor

12/13/16-- Surgery to replace medication pump. Resulted in dose change. (AHI went up, events were almost exclusively central apnea). 03/10/17-- Increase in medication dose. 03/21/17-- Sleep doctor changed settings on machine. (Events now almost exclusively hypopneas). 04/07/17-- Change in timing of...

Re: Fired My Sleep Doctor

Paper_nanny, you don't give your location. Someone might know of a good sleep specialist in your area. Or, if you're near enough to a major metropolitan area to make occasional visits, you might look into a sleep specialist at a major medical center or university hospital. I updated my profile to i...

Re: Fired My Sleep Doctor

Last night's data. I made no changes to the machine settings Everything after 8:45 can probably be discounted. My dog woke me up at 8:45, I went back to sleep, but it was pretty restless and I was aware several times of fighting with my machine because I felt like I was having to breathe against wha...

Re: Fired My Sleep Doctor

though all I've got is your cpap data, not a good timeline of what external things also happened. 12/13/16-- Surgery to replace medication pump. Resulted in dose change. Re: Fired My Sleep Doctor

how are you ok with a BPM of 6? For Respironics, their titration guide recommends the following starting point for ASV: If you experience an inadequate breathing rate on Auto mode: Set fixed rate of 8 - 10bpm, or 2bpm below spontaneous rate. Then set inspiratory time of 1.5 seconds. So, I double ch...

It is quite probable these are central hypopneas... I was having only central apneas before the fired sleep doctor changed my settings. After the change, I was having no apnea, but many hypopneas.
