I'm not familiar with that particular Resmed machine, but I imagine you can get data and view it on the machine screen.
I'd check that first. You should find out pretty quick what the machine recorded as the AHI and the breakdown.

Re: POLL: Why are you here?
I stop by every now and then and this caught my eye. This certainly is an interesting forum. There is a visible transformation where one evolves from, I was just told I have sleep apnea and I'm going to die; to becoming the world's foremost authority on the subject. That said, for the most part, tho...

Re: Do S9 auto's wear out?
I'm in the camp that thinks your S9 may have always had issues, especially since your AHI has been high from the beginning and you are running pressures so much higher. I highly question an AHI that changes from 1 to 2 to over 12 and up to 20 due to a machine change. I'm sure that Govt agencies that...

Re: Newbie with a beard
I had a beard for a year and a half without problems. I had to keep if pretty short, less than 6mm, and my pressure is not that high... but it was a FFM.
You may have to tighten it more than normal to get it to seal.

Re: Forgot my mask!
If I found myself in that situation, I would find a pharmacy and buy a cervical collar and try to sleep sitting up. Not a substitute for xPAP, but stabilizing the head from tilting down or back may help to keep the airway open.

Re: Cpap Mask Tightness
I have been using a Quattro FX FFM and I agree with wardmiller on this one, especially as the pressure goes up. To me it seems kind of ridiculous to think this lightly tightened straps are going to work under pressure and with the typical moving around as some people do when they sleep. It may work ...

Re: Help! Supplier inflates bills. $1950 for $868 CPAP machine?!
You have to weigh out the cost after the deductible. 5 years ago I ended up going with a brick & mortar DME, usually I online it but my insurance company wouldn't accept an online DME. They provided a new mask every 3 months and I was charged 10% after I met my deductible, which happened with the ma...

Re: DOT Compliance Cert for Physical
I used to drive in a vanpool and had to do the DOT physicals every year. I had an older machine, early 2000's, that obviously had no data capability. I ended up with an S9 Elite, but an APAP is better. As Pugsy suggested get Rescan software. That is what I used and had no issues. The nice thing abou...

Re: I gave my CPAP back!!
Trying to make this simple. Get a copy of your sleep study. It will give you the details because 81 to 84 oxygen events doesn't mean anything. It could be the number of apnea events or oxygen saturation. If the DME didn't give you an oxygen tank, I'm kinda guessing you don't need oxygen. The hot pow...

Re: Lost weight but still have sleep apnea?
I lost quite a bit of weight and the only thing that changed was I was able to lower my pressure. The weight loss came over a period of time along with a good amount of exercise. Initially my AHI numbers were worse, and higher machine pressures only drove the numbers higher. I'm generally don't spen...

Re: Thoughts on AHI of 4.5 to 5.0
As already noted, it is important how you feel. But beyond that, what may be more important is getting into the data and finding out the buildup of those numbers. I was on CPAP for the first 10 years without any data and at the same pressure, which may not come as a surprise... 10cm. I then got a da...

Re: Decreased pressure and OSAs
If you have an auto machine, you can set it with a tight range of 9-12 and just monitor the data over a period of time. Over the years I've done a lot of minor pressure tweaks on a straight CPAP machine, but with an APAP you really don't have to guess.

Madalot,
Congrats on your weight loss. Losing that much weight without being physically able to add exercise is really amazing.
Good for you!

Dentist would be interesting. I guess a FFM could be an external oral device... lol
