Re: Dream Station and SleepyHead with opposite conclusions??

try creating a new profile and see if it works under that, it might be that there's a glitch in your profile data... (this is purely a guess) Okay...just tried a new profile...the default setting for ignoring short session was 5 minutes for this profile (other profile it was 15 which was probably a...

Re: Dream Station and SleepyHead with opposite conclusions??

Changing the short and combine sessions options to off and saving works for me. Win10 64 bit. SleepyHead v1.0.0-beta-2 Build Date: Apr 22 2016 14:39:45 Revision: cb213cc (master branch) Graphics Engine: OpenGL I have some vague recollection at the back of my mind about having a problem with this at ...

Re: Proving the Resmed Airsense 10 CPAP is in fact a brick

I disagree with calling the AirSense 10 CPAP model a "brick." If you're stuck with an A10 CPAP, there is some very useful data there, DON'T ignore the data it DOES provide. It's still an amazing piece of technology with useful data. It's criminal that they throw away some of the potentially life-sav...

Re: Don't know what is wrong with me, need some advice please.

Basically, if a sleep test shows you have apnea, you have it. If it doesn't slow apnea, you may just not have had apnea for that one night. You may not sleep normally in a strange bed, stressed, covered with wires, etc. Insurance probably won't pay for CPAP or even another study. You could try CPAP ...

Re: Buying Distilled water in Europe

Bonjour lathnos46 , The Migros supermarket chain has distilled water - or l'eau distillée - or destilliert wasser - but it's the kind you put in batteries and irons, and is not meant to be drunk or inhaled. That's why they keep it in the household cleaning section. The pharmaceutical kind is harder...

Re: Seizure from a blocked CPAP mask?

Hi, New to this forum - hope some of you can help. My son recently suffered a seizure that the docs stated could have resulted from a blocked vent on a Quattro CPAP mask. My question: is this even possible? Aren't there safety precautions built into a mask to prevent this from happening? When he wa...

Re: Seizure from a blocked CPAP mask?

If the doctors suspected a blocked CPAP vent a simple blood gas test would have told them if this is true. Only if they did the blood gas test when the vent was blocked. If you block the CPAP vent, and get low O2/high CO2 blood gas, they'll be back to normal within a minute or so of normal breathin...

Re: Buying Distilled water in Europe

The only reason for distilled water is so you don't need to clean the mineral build up out of the humidifier. Tap water is fine if it is drinkable. Just clean the humidifier more often. Use vinegar in the water and let it sit for 10-20 minutes. I agree with Julie - ask in a store or at the hotel wh...

Re: Buying Distilled water in Europe

Many people in Europe (and other places outside the US) have reported problems finding distilled water for sale. If they find it, it may be very expensive. This is even true in some of the more "advanced" countries. Any tap water that's safe for drinking is OK for your CPAP machine, especially for a...

Re: so clean 2

I'm skeptical, but it's possible. do you *ever* do anything but guess? you love to weigh in with your opinions without bothering to figure out anything at all. what ozone concentration IS harmful to plastics? what ozone concentration would effectively kill a biofilm? all you do by saying "well, hur...

Re: so clean 2

given the proven fact that ozone is harmful to metals and plastics, it's interesting to note that there's *nothing* to prevent backdraft into the blower unit as the ozone allegedly circulates through the humidifier and hose... so, either it does nothing of note (most likely) or it's slowly destroyi...

So Clean

From what I can see in their literature, SoClean recirculates the same air over and over. Air goes into the water tank through the hose, through the mask, back into the SoClean machine. Even if it generates ozone slowly, it should build up over time. There is probably less than 1 cubic foot of air i...

Re: New Remstar Humidifier Chamber -- LOUD?

My Remstar is 12 years old. I just replaced the humidifier chamber and WOW is it loud. What a terrible design. It went from being almost silent to sounding like the vacuum cleaner. No way will I use this. I'll just keep using my old chamber. You've got what we call the "Legacy" REMstar machine. You...

Re: OT Kim Komando: 10 reasons NOT to go to Win 10

Shutup10 freeware helps you turn off many of the more objectionable Win10 features. https://www.oo-software.com/en/shutup10 I've found Macrium Reflect Free is a good program to make system backups to an external drive. https://www.oo-software.com/en/shutup10 It backs up even a running system. You ca...
