Re: Newbie Question
My question is, well, will I feel better? I am completely exhausted all the time, and feel like I am in a fog. Edit: I misread your question. I thought you asked when you would feel better. Yes, you'll feel better. As to when... It depends on how badly your body has been damaged. Recovery can take ...

Re: A quick newbie question...
Here's my morning CPAP routine. >Get up, go use the bathroom or at least wash my hands. >Come back, get the humidifier tub and dump the distilled out of it. >Put the tub back in the machine start the "warm up cycle" to dry everything out. >Wipe the mask cushion with a Citrus II mask wipes. (I buy th...

Re: should I boil AA valve silicone?
It's nice our sponsors sell that part. Way cheaper than a new mask. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed-mirage-quattro-fx-full-face-cpap-mask-anti-asphyxia-valve-with-clip.html Thanks for pointing out that that I don't have to buy the whole elbow. I didn't realize that. With the part number fro...

Re: should I boil AA valve silicone?
It's probably time to replace the tiny flapper valve if its that old and discolored. Pull it out and push in the replacement. Actually, the flapper itself looks pretty good. It's just the corner of the thick bit that holds it in the clip that got grunged up. Thoroughly disassemble and clean the res...

Re: sleepmapper
I have a remstar auto a-flex and would like to know if and when I look at my info is their an option to look at the data and still leave the data on the card. Yep. I that's the default for SleepyHead. It does import the data to your hard drive, but I don't remember it even having the option to dele...

Re: S9 filter change interval?
I bought a bunch of filters with intent to change them every couple weeks. We have a lot of particulates in the air here, and the filters were always very grey after a month in the machine. But shortly after I bought the big pile of filters, I decided what I really needed was a serious air cleaner f...

should I boil AA valve silicone?
Please help me out here. I haven't been sleeping much lately and I don't trust my judgment. I found a little black crud on the base of the silicone flapper (not the flapper itself) from the anti-asphyxiation valve of my QFX, and there are four tiny dots I can't get off with soap or mask wipes. I eve...

Re: Length of time using mask at night
Took me about 3 weeks, but I've been off the ramp since Wednesday. I actually feel like I'm not getting enough air (ramp starts at 13, my full pressure is 19/13 BiPAP.) I have been getting about 6 hours of sleep every night, all with the mask on. Wonderful! Did you change the ramp setting gradually...

Otter I wasn't attacking you. I was only pointing out that there perhaps your statement But don't most people get used to their therapeutic pressure eventually , even if it's high? wasn't/isn't something that happens all the time. I never said it was. Most is not all. But most is reason for hope. W...

Re: Turned over resumed elite humidifier
Oh, you could help it dry faster by using a mild heat source, a heating pad on low, for instance. You could also blow air through it, but a DC motor will act as a generator if you spin it, so you need to be careful.

Re: Turned over resumed elite humidifier
So, my resumed 9 Elite pulled off the shelf and turned over while using it. Of course the water went everywhere. I drained the hose, and emptied the humidifier compt. Anything else that I should do ? Unplug the machine if you haven't already, and wait. If water made it to the hose, you should assum...

Re: Flow Limitations ??
One byproduct of the SenseAwake data is it gives me a clue to how long I am awake and how long I am asleep while on the machine; as an example from the data above it shows that I was using the machine for a little over 7 hours and the SenseAwake was activated for one hour, so that would imply that ...

Re: Length of time using mask at night
So we don't know all of Mamie's history and don't really need to know for us to be able to offer her additional ideas that go beyond "work harder...most people get used to it" because that simply isn't always the case. We can't assume that because something is easy for us to do that the rest of the...
