Trouble Burping
About six months back, I noticed something that continues. When I start a brisk walk, my chest feels tight. After I walk for about 10 minutes, I have a small burp. Within a few more minutes, I have a moderate burp. It feels like there is more air in my chest. It feels like I need a couple of deep bu...

Re: Smart watches and sleep apnea ?
But, in my experience the random readings are not always accurate by a long shot. For example, my AW 6 (the same model used in the studies cited) recorded O2 sats down to 84% during sleep (using CPAP on my usual settings). The recording pulse oximeter had me well into the 90's, no desats. Both reco...

Re: Smart watches and sleep apnea ?
Does anyone use these smart watches for the blood oxygen and ecg and are they worth the cost ? My answer is to different questions than what you are asking. First, I won't bore you with any detail about how I ended up with an Apple Watch that I never wanted. But, I did, and I reluctantly started us...

Re: Magnesium Supplement Causes Leg Cramps
fwiw - When donating blood yesterday the tech tells me that taking magnesium before bedtime is supposed to help lower blood pressure. And you believed her? BONUS MYTH: 11) Health care providers give magnesium sulfate to decrease my blood pressure. False. This myth persists even among health care pr...

Magnesium Supplement Causes Leg Cramps
Seeing some good testimonials here for magnesium supplements, I took 250 mg at breakfast for six days. By the second day, I started having nighttime leg cramps. These continued through day six. I have skipped the magnesium for three days now. I didn't have leg cramps on any of these three nights. So...

I fume each time this advice comes up. A week without would kill me. One night without is disastrous. At my age, I am not as resilient as a younger person. Two nights would probably kill me.Miss Emerita wrote: ↑Fri Nov 17, 2023 12:39 pmstop using your home machine a week or two in advance of the test.

Poor Lazarus hates tracking devices and wants everyone else to hate them. I love my Apple watch. Yes, I'm so glad to have an Apple watch. When it was purchased, I didn't realize how many functions I would use throughout the day and how often I would refer to the watch. As far as privacy conce...

Necessary to Change Mask Settings During the Night?
I often awaken for a quick bathroom trip at 4:00 a.m. My mask is a FFM (F30i). When going back to bed to sleep another hour or two, I would like to switch to a nasal pillow mask (P30i). Is it necessary to change the machine (AirSense 10 Auto) mask setting? It doesn't matter to me if it messes up the...

Re: Vital Sign Tracking Rings
After getting a stern lecture from my doctor at my annual physical, I started using my Apple watch's heart rate zones during aerobic exercise. I was definitely taking my heart rate way too high for a man my age. This was even above Apple's orange zone and high in the red zone. I now keep it in the b...

Re: Can using a CPAP for years open the epiglottis?
Can using a CPAP for many years open the epiglottis, so I'm swallowing food & drink into the lungs? I see you are a long-time user. 16 years for me. If you are asking about food or drink going down the wrong way when you are eating, CPAP should be of no concern. If you are concerned about reflux, p...
