Re: FINALLY Found A Chinstrap That WORKS!
I apologize if I'm wrong to think so, but the OP's remarks seem to exceed what a simple endorsement of a product might include. I'm always leery of such a lavish recommendation. Yeah me too....till I tried it. Was probably his biggest critic till I got so desperate I caved in. I am such a critic of...

Re: Question(s) about mouth leakage:
Only through Herculean self-restraint was I able to refrain from commenting on a woman learning to keep her mouth shut. Thanks for the tip on the Ace bandage - I am curious to see what that does to help abate my nocturnal fireworks. Out of curiosity, what DOES cause aerophagia? My husband had some ...

Re: FINALLY Found A Chinstrap That WORKS!
Could you provide a link to the McMillan strap please? Thanks USN (paroled 1991) Sorry I should have thought of that! The website kind of made me think it was a bit of....how do I say this? Dumb? But not having a slick & polished website almost made me never try the one thing I love in PAP treatmen...

Re: Question(s) about mouth leakage:
I had a half dozen chin straps and they all failed me. I bought 6 full face masks I HATED, and had a hybrid I hated. Bought 3 different nasal pillows I loved but couldn't sleep more than 5-10 minutes without waking up with mouth leaks. I actually quit my APAP for 16 days till I solved it with my new...

FINALLY Found A Chinstrap That WORKS!
To begin, 2 1/2 months into APAP, I quit after fighting MAJOR sinus infections. My ENT Doctor who performed sinus surgery on me a year ago ordered me to stop until cleared up. I think the BIG reason I quit was that my battle with full face masks (5 of them already!) had simply eft me frustrated to t...

Re: Quattro FX -- Please post feedback on it
Banned, what was your experience with the Quattro? Cybergoon, please keep us posted! I am still hoping to hear from people who had nose bridge issues with the Quattro, but were successful with the Quattro FX! My nose has NONE of the soreness issues my Quattro gave me using my new FX. However....It ...

Re: Quattro FX -- Please post feedback on it
I just picked mine up today! Got home and tried it on. I use a medium Quattro, so I also went with the medium on the FX. I spent about 30 minutes messing with it and finally took a nap with it. So far, I like it very much. There may be a slight learning curve to figure out the easiest way to put it...

Re: NO Heart Surgery Thanks To PadACheek & APAP!
To me? It is actually criminal! Another part of the story is equally important. After several mini strokes and finally a heart attack last year while in the hospital, the Hospital cardiologist told me I needed an angiogram and probably several stints to save my life. I asked, "based on WHAT"? He cur...

NO Heart Surgery Thanks To PadACheek & APAP!
I posted the following PROOF today on one of my cpap support groups. I now have PROOF my own personal diagnosis is sound: Thanks to this group, and Karen at PadACheek, I now have had 4 straight days of GREAT sleep & clarity. In the past 45 years that has never happened. I will post the software resu...

Taping Mouth Shut Question
I am still in a struggle with claustrophobia & panic attacks (USMC Combat related) after just completing my 1st 4 weeks on APAP. I have 4 Full face masks and just got a used Hybrid I have yet to try as I can't seem to get it adjusted right yet when tinkering during the daytime hours. I keep reading ...

Re: Why I always insist on a data-capable machine and software
You can't tell from software whether you're in REM or not. Someone who has REM-dependent OSA may guess that clusters of events are occurring in REM because that's when their events occurred on their sleep study, but there's no way to know definitively when you're in REM without an EEG. Thanks. Was ...

Re: Why I always insist on a data-capable machine and software
Okay, here are some before (May and June 2009) and after (last week) reports. If I had not had the software I wouldn't have known that my titrated pressure wasn't enough. Brief history. Diagnosed with severe OSA with AHI 53 but the bulk of it was in REM sleep. In non Rem sleep I only averaged about...

Re: Why I always insist on a data-capable machine and software
I also have to take Coumadin to thin my blood since some bad heart problems (prior strokes & heart attack etc) so that may also be helping cause the sinus bleeding? Is your cardiologist aware of the this? I trust he is checking your Prothrombin time regularly, like once a month. My oldest brother d...
