Can a mask leak cause central AHI readings

Machine Resmed 10 Autoset My mom has a weirdly high mask leak now — DME is sending out a new one. If someone has time to walk through the mask leak/AHI relationship or point me towards a resource that does, I’d be grateful. Last night: Leak is 23L/m AHI is 15.3 Total AI 9.7 Central 8.8 I was surpris...

Re: Airsense 10 help, 7-12 events/hour

It’s an Autoset. (Sorry the paperwork from the VA all says Respond. I dunno why.) No idea why they would issue an auto set and leave it on fixed pressure (now that I have some understanding of the difference). How much of an interval is recommended for the pressure is recommended to start titrating ...

Re: Airsense 10 help, 7-12 events/hour

Ordered a SD card. It takes a while for things to get here. Figured I’d post the info available from the machine’s screen in case there’s something obvious I can adjust now. Machine is a ResMed AirSense 10 Respond Mask is an AirFit (didn’t grab the letter on it sorry but I can) Pressure is set on 9....

Airsense 10 help, 7-12 events/hour

Hi, Can anyone help me? Trying to help my dad out. He has the Airsense 10 from the VA. Kind of working in the blind because it doesn’t have efficiency data—or I can’t figure out how to get it. (VA has no choices for machines and I can’t buy a different one right now. Just bought my mom one with cash...

Airsense One w/ SoClean help

My dad uses an Airsense One with the SoClean system. He wants to travel soon and not take the SoClean with him. I can’t figure out how to set up the water tank without the SoClean. There’s a hole on top of the tank that the black hose goes through. Is there a plug for that or something?

This bulletin board, [url]https://forum.hearingtracker.com/[url] is much like cpaptalk. The folks there have helped me out a lot.

Re: Medicare & Machine Replacement?

Thanks so much everyone. To those concerned, please know that the DME did provide a "loaner" CPAP machine for dad. Looked into it and dad does have a Medicare Advantage plan. It sounds like that makes a big difference on the replacement policy? Dad's current machine is an older RESMED. I don't know ...

Medicare & Machine Replacement?

Hi! Hoping you can help me figure out what I can do to help my dad out in Iowa. He has severe sleep apnea. His cpap machine is 7 years old. A month ago, the machine quit working in the middle of the night. It was frightening to both him and my mom because he started coughing with the full face mask ...

Re: 0% REM isn't a bad thing?

Thanks, all, for your thoughts on this. I should have said (sorry, was all obsessed with the sleep study results this morning!) that I have a Zeo and it keeps telling me I'm not getting REM either. I just assumed it wasn't working. Not the smartest assumption, but, there I am today. I am on a number...

0% REM isn't a bad thing?

Hi Folks, After about a year and half of CPAP and not feeling any more rested, I threw in the towel. Turned out I had a largish hole in my septum, probably from endonasal surgery and radiation for Cushing's Disease. Got that patched up and no longer snored, which is cool. Since I'm still sleepy all ...

Re: Swift FX - top strap keeps slipping backwards

I had the same problem with the Swift FX--until I read a post by someone here (sorry, can't find it) suggesting that the cheek cover thingamabobies not be used at all. That, and tucking the backstrap under my hair made big difference for me. Good luck with the velcro!

Re: How to remove sleep study goop from hair

Vitamin E oil worked really well for me. Just rubbed the oil into the sticky spots/clumps of yuck, gave it a few minutes, shampooed (seriously, how do you spell that?) with a clarifying shampoo a few times, and I was in the clear. Also works well on medical tape residue. My itty bitty bottle of Vita...
