getting new machine soon; questions

Been a long while since I have been active here. Coming up on 5 years and if memory serves me correctly that is when I can get a new machine through my insurance. I currently have a respironics APAP with c-flex and am thinking will get the equivalent respironics machine (mainly since that has worked...

3 years

Been on the cpap now for three years. Have not been on cpaptalk regularly lately, but it is nice to see some of the same people still here. I could not have gotten where I am today without the support and advice of the people who use and are cpaptalk.

Two years

Just about two years now on xpap. Could/would not have been able to do this without the advice from here and aftermarket products like James Skinner's program (has anyone heard whether he is doing ok?). 7 and 30 day averages at 1.2 as of yesterday. Thank you for all the support and help.

One year in

Last night was one year on xPAP for me. My AHI for the past month has been about 1.4 and has remained below 5 the entire time. I feel better than I did a year ago, and my wife and kids no longer have to live with a constant grump (although I am told that at times I still am one). Without the help fr...

With your machine and software, you should download James Skinner's Encore Pro Analyzer to get the Pressure vs. AHI report mentioned by above. MyEncore did not completely work with the new M machine and latest version of Encore Pro. The Encore Pro Analyzer has the same types of info that MyEncore pu...

For me it was a slower process and one which I did not notice at first, but my wife and kids did after a couple months. I wanted the WOW feeling right away. Stick with it and you will get there. I have found putting on the mask, even when you do not want to or think it is worthless to do it, is nece...

Happens to me as well. Not sure how often, but enough for me to notice it.

Soyala mask question re sizing

I am considering getting the Soyala as my next mask. I currently use an UMII nasal size standard or Activa size standard. Not sure how the sizing for the Soyala is and wanted to know if anyone did and how the sizing compares to Resmed sizing on the UMII and Activa. On a side note, I have been going ...

I used that mask for a little while. Had similar problems/complaints. I "solved" it by making it tighter, but then ended up with stripes on my face. I have had better results (more comfortable, able to tolerate better, no red zebra stripes on my face) with other masks. I use the UMII nasal and the A...

Respironics HH recall

My neighbor has a "classic" Resp bi-level. Last night he showed me a medical device recall notice he just received (it was dated late Oct 2006) regarding the power connection involving the HH and a recall. If necessary, I can get the serial numbers of the recalled HHs from him and post. Just thought...

I did not start out with the auto machine. I started with a S8 (can not recall the model name, but it was the bottom rung S8). It was a fine machine. I asked my doctor for the prescription for an auto machine and wanted a respironics machine for the software to monitor. Did not matter to me whether ...

Forgot to mention that after I wash the mask cushion I use a hair dryer on medium heat to quickly air dry the cushion.

I use a spray bottle with a water/vinegar solution to spray my mask cushion daily to clean it (I do this after using baby wash on the mask cushion, overkill maybe, but I have found this routine keeps the cushion tacky and in my experience extends the life of the cushion). I also shave at night right...
