feelings of rejection towards my mask

I've been on CPAP since Nov 2010. After a number of initial struggles during the first 6 months or so I have been doing well and feeling well adjusted to my mask etc. At times I have felt like I really like my mask and I have generally been much happier about my increased energy. BUT NOW, in the las...

travel question/combining carry ons

Hi I have flown several times with my cpap supplies and I'm comfortable with the airport drill. I've always carried my S9, mask etc in the little bag that in came in (looks like a computer bag) but I am wondering if there is any reason NOT to combine the CPAP stuff in a carry-on with other stuff. I ...

Re: Quattro FX Full Face straps hurting ears

Hopefully the DME is not deliberately telling you something does not exist that I'm pretty sure does exist!! I have never tried the small headgear but I know I read on this forum in the past that others have acquired it. There were questions a while back about why a small mask was outfitted with a m...

Re: Quattro FX Full Face straps hurting ears

How long have you been wearing the headgear? I have a medium mask and medium headgear. What I have noticed over the last year is that the headgear stretches out. I have the same problem you describe and then I get a new mask and headgear there is no longer a problem with my ears...for a few months. ...

Re: Ramp or no ramp?

yes the ramp is a comfort feature and I used it initially because the DME set it. Then I discovered this forum and felt motivated to do a lot more for myself than the DME had indicated I could do!! My best pressure is around 13 and I started out with a setting of 10. I stopped using the ramp long ag...

Re: Is Ideal Weight or Ectomorph Weight Best Goal?

My doctor told me that no matter how much weight I lose it will not affect the structure of my airway which is narrow. so even though I do have some weight to lose, and am losing it successfully, I do not have the expectation that it will correct the OSA. From what I've read on this forum, the surge...

Re: Need advice for fixing leaks w/ Quattro FX & Mirage Liberty

glad to hear you are having some success the padacheek liner comes very quickly and I am sure you will benefit from it if you order one And remember that it takes a while to adjust to all of this for most of us. The quattro FX was the 4th mask I tried. There is just a lot of trial and error and twea...

Re: Need advice for fixing leaks w/ Quattro FX & Mirage Liberty

you may need to pay more exact attention to the placement of the Quattro FX on your nose. The top of it should be about mid or a little above the mid part of your nose, definitely not at the bridge of your nose. watch the video of the placement of the mask carefully. (can be found on the ResMed site...

Re: Comfortable full face masks?

I'm liking the quattro FX Be sure to watch the mfgr video on fitting that mask and I would definitely recommend a padacheek liner (padacheek.com) It has to be comfortable for YOU.... I find the quattro FX much better than the ultra mirage which was better than the mirage for me.....you have to try a...
