Re: Question about the overnight report on the Resmed S9 Autoset
Neither. The S9 displays what is called the 95% pressure - the pressure which you were at or below for 95% of the night.

Unless you have a Resmed brand reader, none of the drivers are needed.

Re: Bragging rights thread. Accomplishments.
This has to be my most surprising night: http://i1232.photobucket.com/albums/ff362/BernieRayPB/20101210-MassiveleaksLowAHI.jpg One hypopnea, followed 2 hours later with 2.5 hours of leaks ranging from 25+ to 63.6 and not a single event during those massive leaks! I'd love to know how I got through t...

Re: Am I the only one having trouble with S9's ergonomics?
I am so glad that I got started almost 14 years ago. That CPAP was 4 times as big as the S9 and much, much louder. When the humidifier tank and platform were added, it completely covered the nightstand. Everything else had to go. The machine had no display, so no smiley faces to help. We were basica...

Re: yoga and didgeridoos for toning throat
I first learned of circular breathing in the mid-70's after listening to a Crusaders album. I spent months and several of my tutor sessions trying to learn how. I finally had to give up to focus on an upcoming solo competition. I would still love to learn how, as the doo is an instrument that I'd lo...

Re: Cleaning S9 water resevoir
I was going to switch until I saw how easy it is to take the standard tank apart. I'll get the other tank if/when the standard one needs to be replaced.

Re: Windows Update Breaks CMS-50D Plus Software
Most of us in the IT world dread Microsoft updates for non-Microsoft hardware. 8 times out of 10, they break more than they fix. Usually I will ignore those updates that deal with non-Microsoft hardware unless they end up in the Critical section. I *do* however, go to the manufacturer's site (eithe...

Re: OT: Asked if I had a gun in my home during physical.
You know if you are going to play with lethal toys that kill several thousand people a year (including kids) you have to expect questions like that. Just like you can get stopped at anytime while driving several tons of metal at 60mph to verify that you have a valid license and are not inebriated. ...

Re: Went today for my 1st data download...
Glad things went well. Have you noticed a difference yet in how you feel and your energy level? My pulmonologist, his nurse, and my DME are cool with me having the software. And, as long as I keep them informed on any pressure changes, they're okay with that, too. At my last visit with the doc, he s...

8 years old, and the only mention of guns is to keep them locked up - a good idea in some circumstances only.

Re: Data "Skew" on S9 Series
While I believe the problem is file fragmentation due to the file format of SD cards and not an assumed firmware bug, it really doesn't matter because the only means that we have to avoid the problem is the same regardless of the root cause. Seems to me that it's a firmware bug either way. If the f...

Re: OT: Asked if I had a gun in my home during physical.
Ah. Somehow, it doesn't surprise me that superceded 12 year old recommendations are still being used. That, in and of itself, is a sad comment on medical care in the US.
Whatever happen to common sense? A lack of it seems to be at the root of a lot of crap these days.

Re: OT: Asked if I had a gun in my home during physical.
Most NRA members know we have far too many laws on the books, but now they want another one. Just as there should be no law requiring me to answer the question, there also should be no law forbidding the doctor from asking it. You should go read the article again. Physicians were refusing to treat ...

Re: OT: Asked if I had a gun in my home during physical.
On a (slightly) more serious note, I believe that query (along with a bunch of others like "wearing a bicycle helmet") is based on recommendations from "The Guide to Clinical Preventive Services" by AHRQ. It is also noted that a firearm in the home is 18 times more likely to kill a family member th...

Do you regularly erase or quick format the card? If you don't, that might be the reason.
