I have a round-ish face and have found that the PR ComfortGel Full works best for me. Keep trying until you find one that's right for you!

Re: error codes respironics cpap
Your DME should have 24 hour service. Call them for a loaner while they send yours out for repair/replacement. That's why they're paid the big bucks...

Re: Ramp or no ramp?
It's definitely a personal comfort decision. Like a previous poster who uses the ramp feature, I have asthma. My lungs don't like to be blasted with an immediate pressure of 13, but using a ramp of 10 -> 13 gives my lungs time to adjust as I fall asleep quickly and in comfort. The goal is successful...

Re: aargh, left mask at home
I'm using 2 DME's right now. I started with the first one who supplied me with my machine and first 2 masks but didn't stock replacement cushions for my FFM and wouldn't order them for me. I then verified with my local BC/BS that I could use any in-network DME at any time, so now I get my masks and ...

Re: AutoIQ revisited
My System 1 Remstar Pro died on Thanksgiving morning, having served me faithfully for 392 days. I was lucky that someone from the DME was able to swap out my machine for a loaner that Friday and today I was back to return it. Phillips didn't fix my system, but replaced it with the AutoIQ (and a new ...

Re: CPAP Broke
I just did a search on 'service required' and found this thread. I also have a Remstar Pro C-Flex Plus, and it woke me up on Thanksgiving morning with the dreaded 'service required'. From the card data I luckily had a full night's sleep before the machine died. While I had very little sleep Thanksgi...

Re: Poll for women using FFM's and Hybrids
I use the PR ComfortGel FFM and love it. It was the second mask that I tried - after an unhappy 3 day use of the ComfortFull 2. I also tried the FP Forma and Quattro and each time switched back to my ComfortGel. I have found that the cushion does wear out and need to be replaced after 4-5 weeks. Thi...

Re: Advice please re: DH denying sleep apnea
DH did talk to his doctor who said he wants to get his blood pressure controlled before doing anything else. My sleep doc says he'll never control the blood pressure without getting treated for sleep apnea. I've had high blood pressure since I was in my early thirties and it's always been non-trivi...

Re: Lets talk about our avatars!
My avatar is a picture of my 2 dogs, Rocky and Rosie. In February, 2008 I had to make the painful decisions to say goodbye to my 2 elderly dogs 17 days apart. A quick trip to one of the area shelters a week after Moosie and I said goodbye led to Rosie coming to live with me. She was 4 years old at t...

Re: OT: Losing a pet
I'm so sorry to hear that you've lost your dear friend, Jeannette. No matter how short or long a time that we share their lives, it's always too short, and it hurts so much to say goodbye. I'm sure that you will meet her again one day at Rainbow Bridge, just as I hope that I will meet my friends, to...

Re: Got some Vicks for Aromatherapy...Spouse is pissed!
"Clear" by Pur-sleep dot com works for me, and although my spouse says he can smell it, it doesn't offend him or make him nauseous. All it takes is one drop, every night, on a wafer (available from Pur-Sleep with the diffuser kit or refill diffuser kit) sitting behind the air filter on my CPAP mach...

Re: Are Ramp settings are like training wheels on a bicycle?
I've always used the ramp and C-flex features. I have asthma so I appreciate anything which makes it easier for me to exhale. My therapeutic pressure is 13 and C-flex has remained at 3. When my machine was delivered the ramp time was 20 minutes with a starting pressure of 4, which I immediately had ...

Re: Shingles Vaccination (Herpes Zoster Vaccination)
I had a severe case of chicken pox when I was 6-1/2 years old, and 4+ years ago I had a severe allergic reaction (hypersensitivity vasculitis with necrotizing dermatitis complicated by cellulitis) that did a number on the tissues of my legs and feet. Although they are badly scarred, I'm thankful to ...

Re: My friend snores and stops breathing. Your comments ?
He has no daytime sleepiness and claims excellent energy. Before my sleep studies, I felt fine. I slept for 7+ hours a night, didn't wake up for potty breaks, had no nasty nightmares (indeed I couldn't remember dreaming at all), I didn't feel sleepy during the day, I didn't fall asleep at the drop ...

Re: Thinking that I may not like DME billing dept
Also, my insurance will pay for a new nasal cushion monthly but the DME doesn't sell them individually apart from with a mask to I have to buy them out of pocket off ebay or trade for them here on the pillow exchange thread. I can't imagine somebody who doesn't educate themselves being succesfully ...
