Re: DME Ignored Doctor's Prescription

Assuming the OP is factual in his post, it doesn't matter if the DME gave him/her a better machine of not. The doctor wrote a prescription for a very specific machine and the DME is obligated by law to fill the prescription AS WRITTEN. By not filling the prescription as written, they are in the wron...

Re: New leak problems

I was just checking the posts from my husbands pc. So this is Nanderson not inkdesigner. I found that using the 2 in breathable first aid tape and a heavy moisture blistex ( I used the Moisture Melt) worked for me to train myself. I took a small piece of toilet paper in the center of the tape and cu...

Re: How big a deal is it not to clean your air tube?

I've recently been converted to a more frequent cleaner. I have been on the hose for 3 years, and hadn't once cleaned my long hose or the short hose on my Swift FX. Then, about 3 months ago, I came down with a bad case of strep throat that survived 2 round of azithromycin before I was given a strong...

Re: Is untreated/undiagnosed SA considered preexisting condition

Just a word of advice. if you are considering purchasing term life insurance, purchase it before you get diagnosed with OSA. Can you elaborate a bit more on this. I travel somewhat regularly for my full time gig and I work as an EMT part time (always a risk of death from that job) and have been thi...

Re: Looking for a Sleep Center

Thanks for the hint about their website. When looking for a doctor, should I look for a specialist in neurology or pulmonary disease?

Looking for a Sleep Center

Hi all, I am looking for a good sleep center and sleep doc in Massachusetts. I was originally diagnosed thru the sleed study center at the Lahey Burlington, but never saw an actual sleep doc. All I talked to was the tech. A copy of the summary report was sent to me and my PCP wrote a script for my m...

Re: Are your pets interfering with CPAP?

My cat doesn't interfere at all. What he does do every night, however, is stand on my pillow next to my head and lick my hair. He will do this for a minute or two, then walk to the foot of the bed to lie there near my feet.

Re: TSA and flying in the USA again

I recently traveled to China on business. Left from Logan International in Boston. I had to removes my CPAP from its case for screening in Boston. Even in China, I had to remove from the case when flying in-country from Zhuhai to Shanghai and when boarding the flight from Shanghai for the States. Af...

Re: Recommendations for a back up machine

The main issue with getting an S8 vs an S9... you'll need a specialized card reader that is next to impossible to find. There is a guy on eBay in Israel that seems to have quite a few card readers for the S8. They look like they are genuine Resmed product. The bigger issue would be finding a data c...

Re: Resmed S8 Data Card

Don't really have a DME right now. Purchased my equipment thru an online company. My insurance is BS/BC and my policy allows $1500.00 per year in durable medical equipment (ie CPAP). I didn't like any of my local DMEs, they were very pushy and told me that there were only certain things I could get ...

Resmed S8 Data Card

I recently acquired a Resmed S8 Elite II as a backup machine. The only thing missing from the set-up is the data card. Does anyone know where I can get one? The only place online that I can find selling them is at http://www.cpapaustralia.com.au/shopping/resmed-resscan-s8-data-card-22905.html . I'm ...

Re: Help Us Out...What do you think of Transcend travel CPAP?

I like the idea of it being small, light, and compact, with no water. However, strapping to me head is a big concern for me. If you could keep the machine the size and weight it is along with the HME technology and just allow for it to be on a bedside table, you could have a winner. The HME technolo...
