Re: installing and using sleepyhead

I've spent quite a bit of time on both the Resmed and PR websites. And I have not been able to find any information on those official web pages that backs up your claim that Resmed, PR, or a reputable on-line seller of PAP equipment makes the claim that the ASV machines ( Resmed AirCurve 10 ASV and...

Re: Respiratory rate

Fenelon, I'm off to bed. But I do have one quick question: Did you turn on the AutoRamp setting? It looks like you just have the ordinary Ramp turned on. It is possible that I'm confused about the Resmed AutoRamp feature. If there is not an AutoRamp setting in your clinical menu, please let me know.

You are such a rational person... why are you trying to reason with an irrational one? Julie, I am not actually trying to reason with xxyzx. I am, however, wanting to make sure that any future newbie who stumbles on xxyzx's claims doesn't make the mistake of thinking he's posted something accurate,...

Re: dme said it was new . meter says 405 hours usage on machine

my fear is that if they lied about it being new maybe they lied about approval from insurance and i may get stuck with the bill when they say oopsies later it was not approved and you agreed to pay if insurance didnt If you are really worried that your DME lied to you about whether the machine was ...

Re: dme said it was new . meter says 405 hours usage on machine

the problem is that we have to pick a DME first if i coudl get approval then i coudl shop DMEs and ensure it was a new machine with the features i want etc all they have to do is provide the cpt code device as insurance does not require new afaik It's quite possible to shop DMEs if you are really w...

Re: installing and using sleepyhead

And while he is awful, he does remind me a little bit of calist (for those that remember calist). And it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if this IS calist using another persona to try to screw with the forum. I wouldn't bat an eye if that proved to be the case. Calist was as mean and hateful....

Re: Concerns about sleep study tomorrow

Zeds, You are over thinking things. Although the number of apneas and hypopneas can vary somewhat from night to night, if a person has moderate to severe OSA, the apneas will present as soon as you actually get some sleep. What happens if my sleep symptoms don't show up on sleep study night? I wake ...

Fenelon, I saw this just as I was heading off to bed. http://imgur.com/a/4TUhQ Not a very good night. The new AirTouch mask seemed to work ok though. It is definitely the most comfortable mask I have worn, though I still have some marks on my face, just not as bad as usual. The main thing is there w...

Re: installing and using sleepyhead

You have to be logical about that: He already had an Aircurve ST - failed it. Now he has as Aircurve ASV - is currently failing on that too. I believe the first machine xxyzx had was just an AirCurve VAuto, not the AirCurve ST. But he claimed the VAuto was broken and didn't adjust anything. See htt...

Re: UARS

i agree that the ASV will improve QOL because it is a kinder gentler form of xpap Gentler in what sense? An ASV can increase the IPAP by 5-10 cm in just a few breaths. Not everyone can sleep through that kind of a rapid pressure increase, particularly if they don't have CAs. And when that ASV algor...

Re: How bad were my sleep study stats?

AHI 20.5/hr RDI 20.5/hr REM AHI 101.4/hr Supine AHI 10.2/hr Based on the AHI and RDI, your apnea is officially considered moderate sleep apnea. But if you don't have a typo in that REM AHI, your apnea is extremely severe in REM. Once the apnea is in the moderate range, most docs suggest treating it...

Re: OSA range of symptoms

I do get the migraines with aura. And I really only get the aura part - headache isn't bad for me. I do get the occasional headache, usually around my eyes. My eyes have been more light-sensitive the last 2 years, and it's pretty much daily. I was thinking maybe long-term sleep deprivation has made...
